Download or read book Geoenergy Modeling III written by Norihiro Watanabe and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-11-10 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on numerical modeling of deep hydrothermal and petrothermal systems in fractured georeservoirs for utilization in Geothermal Energy applications. The authors explain the particular challenges and approaches to modeling heat transport and high-throughput flow in multiply fractured porous rock formations. In order to help readers gain a system-level understanding of the necessary analysis, the authors include detailed examples of growing complexity as the techniques explained in the text are introduced. The coverage culminates with the fully-coupled analysis of real deep geothermal test-sites located in Germany and France.

Book Synopsis Geoenergy Modeling II by : Haibing Shao
Download or read book Geoenergy Modeling II written by Haibing Shao and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-10-06 with total page 99 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is dedicated to the numerical modeling of shallow geothermal systems. The utilization of shallow geothermal energy involves the integration of multiple Borehole Heat Exchangers (BHE) with Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) systems to provide heating and cooling. The modeling practices explained in this book can improve the efficiency of these increasingly common systems. The book begins by explaining the basic theory of heat transport processes in man-made as well as natural media. . These techniques are then applied to the simulation of borehole heat exchangers and their interaction with the surrounding soil. The numerical and analytical models are verified against analytical solutions and measured data from a Thermal Response Test, and finally, a real test site is analyzed through the model and discussed with regard to BHE and GSHP system design and optimization.

Book Synopsis Three Dimensional Geophysical Modeling by : Andrea Villa
Download or read book Three Dimensional Geophysical Modeling written by Andrea Villa and published by Ledizioni. This book was released on 2010 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main object of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive numerical tool forthe three-dimensional simulation of sedimentary basins [94]. Sedimentary basins, in particular salt basins, are the best places to find oil, natural gas and to store dangerous nuclear waste material. The low permeability of salt guarantees low water leakage which is the main concern for the safety of a nuclear waste storage. For this reason one of the best places for a nuclear waste depository is a salt mine. These two applications call for a thorough knowledge of the basin evolution on geological time scales. Until now sedimentary basin studies have been based mainly on geological interpretation: experienced specialists estimate the history of a basin on the basis of common knowledge. More often, they provide a list of possible scenarios. An appropriate numerical simulator can provide the right tool to choose, among these scenarios, the correct one or, at least, the most realistic.
