This book was released on 2018 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis develops a novel technique for low-complexity MIMO detection known as Constellation Shift Binary Classification (CSBC). The proposed method utilizes the constellation structure to deduce a constellation shift that is used to reduce the problem of detecting the symbol into binary classification. The proposed method is proven to outperform other common techniques such as ZF and LMMSE. The proposed CSBC is a novel MIMO detection technique since it utilizes the constellation structure together with a binary classifier that is based on neural networks.

Book Synopsis Algorithms and VLSI Implementations of MIMO Detection by : Ibrahim A. Bello
Download or read book Algorithms and VLSI Implementations of MIMO Detection written by Ibrahim A. Bello and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-07-22 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a detailed overview of detection algorithms for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications systems focusing on their hardware realisation. The book begins by analysing the maximum likelihood detector, which provides the optimal bit error rate performance in an uncoded communications system. However, the maximum likelihood detector experiences a high complexity that scales exponentially with the number of antennas, which makes it impractical for real-time communications systems. The authors proceed to discuss lower-complexity detection algorithms such as zero-forcing, sphere decoding, and the K-best algorithm, with the aid of detailed algorithmic analysis and several MATLAB code examples. Furthermore, different design examples of MIMO detection algorithms and their hardware implementation results are presented and discussed. Finally, an ASIC design flow for implementing MIMO detection algorithms in hardware is provided, including the system simulation and modelling steps and register transfer level modelling using hardware description languages. Provides an overview of MIMO detection algorithms and discusses their corresponding hardware implementations in detail; Highlights architectural considerations of MIMO detectors in achieving low power consumption and high throughput; Discusses design tradeoffs that will guide readers’ efforts when implementing MIMO algorithms in hardware; Describes a broad range of implementations of different MIMO detectors, enabling readers to make informed design decisions based on their application requirements.

Download or read book Understanding LTE with MATLAB written by Houman Zarrinkoub and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2014-01-28 with total page 513 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An introduction to technical details related to the Physical Layer of the LTE standard with MATLAB® The LTE (Long Term Evolution) and LTE-Advanced are among the latest mobile communications standards, designed to realize the dream of a truly global, fast, all-IP-based, secure broadband mobile access technology. This book examines the Physical Layer (PHY) of the LTE standards by incorporating three conceptual elements: an overview of the theory behind key enabling technologies; a concise discussion regarding standard specifications; and the MATLAB® algorithms needed to simulate the standard. The use of MATLAB®, a widely used technical computing language, is one of the distinguishing features of this book. Through a series of MATLAB® programs, the author explores each of the enabling technologies, pedagogically synthesizes an LTE PHY system model, and evaluates system performance at each stage. Following this step-by-step process, readers will achieve deeper understanding of LTE concepts and specifications through simulations. Key Features: • Accessible, intuitive, and progressive; one of the few books to focus primarily on the modeling, simulation, and implementation of the LTE PHY standard • Includes case studies and testbenches in MATLAB®, which build knowledge gradually and incrementally until a functional specification for the LTE PHY is attained • Accompanying Web site includes all MATLAB® programs, together with PowerPoint slides and other illustrative examples Dr Houman Zarrinkoub has served as a development manager and now as a senior product manager with MathWorks, based in Massachusetts, USA. Within his 12 years at MathWorks, he has been responsible for multiple signal processing and communications software tools. Prior to MathWorks, he was a research scientist in the Wireless Group at Nortel Networks, where he contributed to multiple standardization projects for 3G mobile technologies. He has been awarded multiple patents on topics related to computer simulations. He holds a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University and MSc and PhD degrees in Telecommunications from the Institut Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique, in Canada. www.wiley.com/go/zarrinkoub

Download or read book Adaptive Filtering and Change Detection written by Fredrik Gustafsson and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2000-10-03 with total page 520 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Adaptive filtering is a branch of digital signal processing which enables the selective enhancement of desired elements of a signal and the reduction of undesired elements. Change detection is another kind of adaptive filtering for non-stationary signals, and is the basic tool in fault detection and diagnosis. Real engineering applications covered include aircraft, automotive, communication systems, signal processing and automatic control problems. The unique integration of both theory and practical applications makes this book a valuable resource combining information otherwise only available in separate sources Comprehensive coverage includes many examples and case studies to illustrate the ideas and show what can be achieved Uniquely integrates applications to airborne, automotive and communications systems with the essential mathematical tools Accompanying Matlab toolbox available on the web illustrating the main ideas and enabling the reader to do simulations using all the figures and numerical examples featured This text would prove to be an essential reference for postgraduates and researchers studying digital signal processing as well as practising digital signal processing engineers.
