Aug, 13, 1749; Died Near Wilmington, Dec, 1823, and Also, a List of His Descendants My Dear Sir: - I am in receipt of your communication informing me of your intention to print certain material relating to the Pepper, Platt, Taylor and Newbold families, and asking me to furnish to you any matter that I may have concerning the Platt family. It affords me pleasure to co-operate with you in this enterprise, and I therefore enclose herewith my manuscript notes upon the Platt family record, for you to use in full or in part, or in any shape or form that you may deem best. Much of the material therein contained was communicated to me by Miss R. Hooper, Trenton, N.J. It was intended to print simply the notes upon the ancestry of John Platt and the list of his descendants. But as there was in hand considerable material concerning the descendants of the brothers and sisters of John Platt, and no present likelihood that this material would be printed elsewhere, it was deemed best to alter and amend the original plan and print herewith the incomplete list of descendants of Thomas Platt 3d, and Jacob Platt, the brothers of John Platt, and the descendants of his sister, Hannah (Platt) Hooper.
