Book Synopsis Quantization, Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations, and Operator Algebra by : William Arveson
Download or read book Quantization, Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations, and Operator Algebra written by William Arveson and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1996 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the outstanding recent progress in this important and challenging field and presents general background for the scientific context and specifics regarding key difficulties. Quantization is developed in the context of rigorous nonlinear quantum field theory in four dimensions and in connection with symplectic manifold theory and random Schrödinger operators. Nonlinear wave equations are exposed in relation to recent important progress in general relativity, in purely mathematical terms of microlocal analysis, and as represented by progress on the relativistic Boltzmann equation. Most of the developments in this volume appear in book form for the first time. The resulting work is a concise and informative way to explore the field and the spectrum of methods available for its investigation.
Book Synopsis Quantum Theory And Symmetries - Proceedings Of The International Symposium by : Vladimir K Dobrev
Download or read book Quantum Theory And Symmetries - Proceedings Of The International Symposium written by Vladimir K Dobrev and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2000-05-05 with total page 641 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume gives a representative survey of recent developments in relativistic and non-relativistic quantum theory, which are related to the application of symmetries in their most general sense. The corresponding mathematical notions are centered upon groups, algebras and their generalizations, and are applied in interaction with topology, differential geometry, functional analysis and related fields. Special emphasis is on results in the following areas: quantization methods, nonlinear evolution equations, foundation of quantum physics, algebraic quantum field theory, gauge and string theories, quantum information, quantum groups, discrete symmetries.

Book Synopsis Recent Developments in Mathematical Physics by : Heinrich Mitter
Download or read book Recent Developments in Mathematical Physics written by Heinrich Mitter and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the written versions of invited lectures and abstracts of seminars presented at the 26th "Universitatswochen fiir Kernphysik" (Uni versity nuclear physics weeks) in Schladming, Austria, in February 1987. Again the generous support of our sponsors, the Austrian Ministry of Sci ence and Research, the Styrian government and others, made it possible to invite expert lecturers. The meeting was organized in honour of Prof. Dr. th Walter Thirring in connection with his 60 birthday. In choosing the topics for the lectures we have tried to cover a good many of the areas in which mathematical physics has made significant progress in recent years. Both classical and quantum mechanical problems are considered as well as prob lems in statistical physics and quantum field theory. The common feature lies in the methods of mathematical physics that are used to understand the underlying structure and to proceed towards a rigorous solution. Thanks to the efforts of the speakers this spirit was maintained in all lectures. Due to space limitations only shortened versions of the many seminars presented in Schladming could be included. After the school the lecture notes were revised by the authors, whom we thank for their efforts, which made it possible to speed up publication. Thanks are also due to Mrs. Neuhold for the careful typing of the notes, and to Miss Koubek and Mr. Preitler for their help in proofreading.
Book Synopsis Nonlinear Semigroups, Partial Differential Equations and Attractors by : T.L. Gill
Download or read book Nonlinear Semigroups, Partial Differential Equations and Attractors written by T.L. Gill and published by Lecture Notes in Mathematics. This book was released on 1987-05-06 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The original idea of the organizers of the Washington Symposium was to span a fairly narrow range of topics on some recent techniques developed for the investigation of nonlinear partial differential equations and discuss these in a forum of experts. It soon became clear, however, that the dynamical systems approach interfaced significantly with many important branches of applied mathematics. As a consequence, the scope of this resulting proceedings volume is an enlarged one with coverage of a wider range of research topics.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This graduate-level monographic textbook treats applied differential geometry from a modern scientific perspective. Co-authored by the originator of the world's leading human motion simulator ? ?Human Biodynamics Engine?, a complex, 264-DOF bio-mechanical system, modeled by differential-geometric tools ? this is the first book that combines modern differential geometry with a wide spectrum of applications, from modern mechanics and physics, via nonlinear control, to biology and human sciences. The book is designed for a two-semester course, which gives mathematicians a variety of applications for their theory and physicists, as well as other scientists and engineers, a strong theory underlying their models.

Book Synopsis Mathematical Topics Between Classical and Quantum Mechanics by : Nicholas P. Landsman
Download or read book Mathematical Topics Between Classical and Quantum Mechanics written by Nicholas P. Landsman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 547 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph draws on two traditions: the algebraic formulation of quantum mechanics as well as quantum field theory, and the geometric theory of classical mechanics. These are combined in a unified treatment of the theory of Poisson algebras of observables and pure state spaces with a transition probability, which leads on to a discussion of the theory of quantization and the classical limit from this perspective. A prototype of quantization comes from the analogy between the C*- algebra of a Lie groupoid and the Poisson algebra of the corresponding Lie algebroid. The parallel between reduction of symplectic manifolds in classical mechanics and induced representations of groups and C*- algebras in quantum mechanics plays an equally important role. Examples from physics include constrained quantization, curved spaces, magnetic monopoles, gauge theories, massless particles, and $theta$- vacua. Accessible to mathematicians with some prior knowledge of classical and quantum mechanics, and to mathematical physicists and theoretical physicists with some background in functional analysis.
