Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Anointed Man is a story about the fall before the grace. It is not your typical "pastor falls from grace and regains favor from the Lord" story. The Anointed Man is the first book in The Anointed Man series that tells of an inner city pastor's fall before there was grace. It is a story about life, love, trials by fire, trials by man, and temptation. It is said that the devil has no new tricks, just new faces. In this book, you will see that old faces hide new tricks and new faces try old tricks. We all have a testimony, even The Anointed Man! About the Author Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called." Phillip Johnson answered that call by using the gifts given by Him to deliver a message for all the people. Phil has fused the harsh realities of life with biblical lessons and delivered a message that touches the soul and pulls on your heartstrings. Phillip writes with the intent of sending an impactful, inspirational, and motivating message of love, faith, hope, grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Having been blessed to over!come obstacles, setbacks, trials, and triumphs, Phil breaks through with a tome that has blurred the lines between reality and fiction and created a story that takes you back home; back to a time that was and a time that is""a story of The Anointed Man.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As we face global challenges like climate change and inequality, what if women could use their investments to build a cleaner, fairer and more sustainable world? Financial feminism – the belief in the financial equality of women – has been gathering momentum, largely in the context of the gender pay gap: on average a woman earns 80% of what a man does. But there’s another gap – the gender investing gap – which shows women are investing less than men, saving less for retirement and parking more in cash. When compounded by the gender pay gap, this results in a significant shortfall, but there’s more to financial feminism than simply addressing these gaps: women also care about where their money is invested and the impact it can have. In this practical and accessible guide, sustainable investing expert Jessica Robinson shows how through financial feminism, women can use their financial power to invest in a sustainable future and build the kind of world they want to live in. With jargon-free explanations and real-world examples, she demystifies the financial services industry, breaks down just what sustainable investing is and demonstrates the societal and environmental impact of the investment decisions we make. Arming women with the information they need to get started – and keep going – she hopes that more women will embrace financial feminism, invest to grow their own wealth and, in doing so, use their financial decisions to demand a better world.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Together with its sister volume on Descriptive Cognitive Approaches, this volume explores the contribution which cognitive linguistics can make to the identification and analysis of overt and hidden ideologies. As a theory of language which sees language as the accumulation of the conventionalised conceptualisations of a given linguistic and/or cultural community or sub-group within it, cognitive linguistics is called upon to make its own inroads in the study of ideology. This volume offers theoretical approaches and first discusses the philosophical foundations of cognitive linguistics. The question whether cognitive linguistics is not an ideology itself is not tabooed. The speaker’s deictic centre is the anchoring point, not only for spatial, temporal or interactional deixis, but also for cultural and ideological deixis. Cognitive linguistics is also confronted with a severe Marxist critique, but the potential convergence between the two ‘philosophies’ is highlighted as well. Further the question is raised to what extent the central nervous system and the grammatical system of a language impose sexually biased, and hence ideological representations on cognition. Finally, linguistics itself is seen as a potential bearer of ideological deviations as was the case with the ‘politics of linguistics’ in Nazi Germany, and even with the quest for the Indo-European homeland in comparative and historical linguistics throughout the 19th century and well into the 20th century.
