(Leser 2005, S. 287 u. 598) Naturraum Südamerika Diese Dokumentation zum Thema Naturraum Südamerika wird - bezogen auf die Definition unter Punkt 1.1 - im Folgenden überwiegend von der physischen Geographie Südamerikas handeln. Die Hauptbestandteile der Physiogeographie (Abb. 1), wie die physische Geographie auch genannt wird, sind Relief und geologischer Aufbau (Lithosphäre), Boden (Pedosphäre), Wasserkreislauf (Hydrosphäre), Klima (Atmosphäre), Vegetation und Tierwelt (Biosphäre). (Friese 1999, S. 9; Leser 2005, S. 675) Im folgenden HAUPTTEIL werden jene fettgedruckten Begriffe im Mittelpunkt der Ausarbeitung stehen, abgerundet von einigen wichtigen allgemeinen Aspekten und Informationen, die über das Thema hinaus von aktueller Bedeutung sind. ---HAUPTTEIL--- Größe Nach Asien, Afrika und Nordamerika ist Südamerika flächenmäßig der viertgrößte der sieben Kontinente.
