Download or read book Natural Magic written by Doreen Valiente and published by The Crowood Press. This book was released on 2018-01-31 with total page 155 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Magic is all around us - in stones, flowers, stars, the dawn wind and the sunset cloud. All we need is the ability to see it, understand it, and apply it. Natural Magic explains how to practise the age-old white magic that village wise women have used for centuries. It deals with the magic of herbs and flowers, of the four elements, of numbers and colours, amulets and talismans, how to read cards, how to interpret dreams, and much more. There are chapters on the secrets of sex magic, and on the use of traditional spells. If you want to learn to charm warts, to cast a love spell, or to plant a magical garden, this book will tell you how. An essentially practical treatise, which sets out to show how magic can be for everyone, and how, indeed, it has always been inherent in human life and nature. Both those who are new to the practice of magic and those with experience will find it delightful reading and an informative handbook for use in daily life.
Download or read book Nature's Magic written by Peter Corning and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2003-05-05 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nature's Magic presents a bold vision of the evolutionary process from the Big Bang to the 21st century. Synergy of various kinds is not only a ubiquitous aspect of the natural world but it has also been a wellspring of creativity and the 'driver' of the broad evolutionary trend toward increased complexity, in nature and human societies alike. But in contrast with the many theories of emergence or complexity that rely on some underlying force or 'law', the 'Synergism Hypothesis', as Peter Corning calls it, is in essence an economic theory of biological complexity; it is fully consistent with mainstream evolutionary biology. Corning refers to it as Holistic Darwinism. Among the many important insights that are provided by this new paradigm, Corning presents a scenario in which the human species invented itself; synergistic, behavioral and technological innovations were the 'pacemakers' of our biological evolution. Synergy has also been the key to the evolution of complex modern societies, he concludes.

Book excerpt: "Intuition Magic gives us the insights and tools for a happy life. I have seen how it has helped thousands of people of all ages to become who they really are and to express this in their daily lives. This book is a wonderful gift from Linda Keen to every person on this planet. Written with love, down to earth and immediately applicable." - Hans Andeweg, Founder of Center for ECOintention and Author of The Universe Loves A Happy Ending and In Resonance With Nature. Most of us have experienced bursts of intuition or "paranormal" events. Are they all products of imagination or confusion? The truth is that we all have psychic abilities. We simply have to accept their validity and learn to use them properly. Linda Keen's unusual experiences began when she was a child. For years, she kept her secret world to herself for fear of rejection and alienation. But eventually she found companions who validated her experiences and helped her to refine her abilities. In Intuition Magic, she discusses how she developed her abilities to such a level of mastery that she eventually co-founded the largest school for psychic abilities in the Netherlands. Linda has placed a great deal of her teachings in this book. Here you can learn the power and magic of your own intuition, following her step-by-step instruction. You'll discover how to read and adjust auras, protect yourself from "psychic noise," get grounded, maintain healthy chakras, and apply your new intuitive skills to everyday life. Intuition Magic is designed as a road map to assist the seeker within this immaterial world of intuition and spirituality. You know you are ready. Enjoy your journey.

Book Synopsis Natural Particulars by : Anthony Grafton

Book excerpt: Recently the history of science in early modern Europe has been both invigorated and obscured by divisions between scholars of different schools. One school tends to claim that rigorous textual analysis provides the key to the development of science, whereas others tend to focus on the social and cultural contexts within which disciplines grew. This volume challenges such divisions, suggesting that multiple historical approaches are both legitimate and mutually complementary."--

The living message of this book is that magic is tangible when you breathe and merge with nature. For when you do, watch out, your world will transform just as the identical twins Nicholas and Gabriellas did one day after school. Their parents are struggling working two jobs each to make ends meet. George T., their neighbor and an illustrious retired professor, watches over them and walks them home on their last day of school and introduces them to the energy of nature and much more. They are initiated and are led to more experiences of its power that they find within themselves. The energy awakens their senses and inner core to a memory of the powerful magic that is theirs and that sparks its magical presence within their hearts. Their loving energy weaves their journey into a colorful tapestry, each thread displaying their inner wisdom, where through their hearts breath, they become the sole creators and true healers of their world.

Book Synopsis A History of Natural Philosophy by : Edward Grant
Download or read book A History of Natural Philosophy written by Edward Grant and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2007-01-22 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Natural philosophy encompassed all natural phenomena of the physical world. It sought to discover the physical causes of all natural effects and was little concerned with mathematics. By contrast, the exact mathematical sciences were narrowly confined to various computations that did not involve physical causes, functioning totally independently of natural philosophy. Although this began slowly to change in the late Middle Ages, a much more thoroughgoing union of natural philosophy and mathematics occurred in the seventeenth century and thereby made the Scientific Revolution possible. The title of Isaac Newton's great work, The Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy, perfectly reflects the new relationship. Natural philosophy became the 'Great Mother of the Sciences', which by the nineteenth century had nourished the manifold chemical, physical, and biological sciences to maturity, thus enabling them to leave the 'Great Mother' and emerge as the multiplicity of independent sciences we know today.
Book Synopsis The Natures of Science by : Neville McMorris
Download or read book The Natures of Science written by Neville McMorris and published by Fairleigh Dickinson Univ Press. This book was released on 1989 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A too swift examination, for the benefit evidently of fairly naive readers, of broad philosophical and historical themes in the development of science. The ten chapters are grouped by pairs under five topical heads, which treat respectively the philosophical, aesthetic, cultural, methodological, scientific nature of science. Mathematical material encountered in the final chapter ("Classical duality in modern physics") is likely to be considered off-putting by many of the intended readers. Rather awkwardly composed, though attractively printed and bound. The author is chairman of the Physics Department at the University of the West Indies.
