Book Synopsis Defending the American Family by : Martin Mawyer
Download or read book Defending the American Family written by Martin Mawyer and published by New Leaf Publishing Group. This book was released on 1995-04-01 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume will prove to be one of the most important documents of our time. Within these pages, author Martin Mawyer develops a plan of action to preserve and protect the most vital cell of American society - the family. He calls for an armed truce in the culture war and sketches the definitive blueprint on the rights of parents and their children in modern America. Mawyer skillfully reveals government's intrusive entry into the sacred relationship between parents and their children, making Defending The American Family a must read for every parent. His thesis is supported by evidence that will enlighten and shock readers unfamiliar with government's "standard operating procedure. " If this agenda is adopted, it will not only prevent Congress from contributing further to the moral decay of the nation, but more importantly, it will result in a new birth of freedom and a renewal of virtue in American society. Martin Mawyer is the president and founder of the Christian Action Network, a non-profit lobbying organization dedicated to the protection of the American family.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While First Amendment doctrine treats religion as a human good, the state must not take sides on theological questions. Book Synopsis Defending Freedom of Contract: Constitutional Solutions to Resolve the Political Divide by : Patrick Bohan
Download or read book Defending Freedom of Contract: Constitutional Solutions to Resolve the Political Divide written by Patrick Bohan and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-06-13 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The progressive movement that began in the late nineteenth century was a nonviolent coup d'état changing the United States of America from a republic that promoted equal rights for all to a democracy where the majority rules. As a result, moral and social justice was and is used by the federal government to protect the rights of some while mitigating the rights of others. Patrick Bohan, who has studied constitutional law in depth, examines the revolution in detail in this treatise, demonstrating how freedom of contract can be applied to protect the fundamental rights of each citizen equally. The author evaluates hundreds of laws, cases, and examples of justice gone wrong for issues such as slavery, abortion rights, elections, welfare rights, free speech, freedom of religion, civil rights, property rights, contract rights, gay rights, alien rights, and other important topics that polarize Americans.

Book Synopsis Defending the Revolution by : Jeffrey Stephen
Download or read book Defending the Revolution written by Jeffrey Stephen and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-05-13 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 'Glorious Revolution' of 1688-90 played a fundamental role in re-shaping the political, religious and cultural map of the British Isles. Yet, as this book demonstrates, many key elements of the history of the period between the landing of William of Orange and the establishment of the Union between Scotland and England, remain shadowy. In particular, the religious and theological underpinnings of the Revolution in Scotland have received scant attention compared to discussions of events in England, and Ireland. This book sets out to show how the religious dimension of the revolution settlement in Scotland while comprehensively Presbyterian, was not inevitable, revealing instead the degree of political and religious pressure that was brought to bear in order to press for a moderate settlement that took cognizance of the Episcopalian position. However, the outcome demonstrated the ability of Presbyterians to respond to the changing political circumstances and seize the opportunities they offered, enabling them to galvanise their support within parliament and secure a settlement that went beyond what William and Erastian-inclined Presbyterians would have preferred. Traditionally, treatment of the religious outcome in Scotland has been restricted to a bare narration of the significant acts of parliament - this book takes a more thorough and critical approach to explain not only the nature of the final settlement but how it was achieved, and the legacy it left for both Scotland and the newly forged British state.

Book Synopsis The Established Church by : Mark Chapman
Download or read book The Established Church written by Mark Chapman and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2011-05-26 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a definitive account of the recent history and theology of the establishment of the Church of England. Written in an accessible style and at the same time rooted in serious scholarship, it offers a range of views and opinions as well as an awareness of contemporary political and social problems. It asks a number of penetrating questions, including the key issue of the extent to which churches, and particularly the Church of England, can be protected from equality legislation, while at the same time expecting to have special political and social privileges. This issue relates to the thorny problems of the reform of the House of Lords, and even to the future of the Monarchy. While there is no effort to impose a particular agenda or solution, the book is nevertheless often provocative and suggests a number of ways forward for establishment. It is intended as a lively contribution to an often-overlooked debate, which has nevertheless become increasingly important in the multi-cultural context of contemporary Britain.
