Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My Roots, My Love, My Destinyis the story of two strong women, told across an epic and rich canvas painted by two wars and two unique destinies. In her ninety-six years, Ogeri, author Beatrice Akpu Inyang Eleje's mother, experienced danger, heartbreak, and great love. Her journey spanned most of the twentieth century and was dictated by the societal norms, values, and traditions of the Nigeria of her time. Lovingly reconstructed, these are a few of Eleje's most beloved and revered memories of her mother. For the daughter, her journey was spent attempting to navigate rapidly changing waters. Caught between two colliding civilizations-the Western civilization and African culture and Nigeria-two cultures, and two world views, her path was less certain. While one world encouraged independence, the other demanded absolute filial obedience. Rebellion was inevitable. As Eleje listened to her mother speak of her life, the similarities emerged. Both women survived their husbands, and both knew the heartache of illness, loss, and uncertainty-as well as the joys of love in the most unexpected places. But through it all rings a life-sustaining truth worth celebrating: no matter how dark the tunnel, there is always light just around the corner ... if you can just lift your head to look. Designed to inspire younger women to persevere in the face of seemingly in-surmountable odds, the story of these two women proves that no matter what, you just need to take the next step-to-ward hope.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My Roots, My Destiny, based on a profound historical investigation and the personal recollections of the author Gabriel Groszman, describes the fate of his family in the context of the history of the Central European Jews during two centuries. The narration takes us from the Jewish Enlightenment and Emancipation through the World Wars and their shattering consequences, culminating in the loss of millions of European Jews in the Holocaust. The family history, narrated through several generations, reflects the shared destiny of Austro-Hungarian and German Jewry and their achievements in spite of discrimination and open persecution leading to exile, survival or death. The story, which unfolds without resentment, takes us with irony and humor from the age of the Hapsburg Empire through the author's own coming of age in an increasingly anti-Semitic Hungary, the Nazi terror, a brief period of democracy, communist dictatorship and, finally, life in Austria under the occupation of the victorious allies. Gabriel Groszman was born in 1930 in a small Hungarian village. When he was 10 years old, his religious Jewish family moved to Budapest under the pressure of anti-Semitic laws. There he attended an Orthodox middle school until 1944, at which time Germany occupied Hungary. During the ensuing twelve months, his family struggled to elude the Nazi death trap. In 1949, they left the country, then under communist rule, for Vienna, where he began his university studies. Three years later, they emigrated to Argentina, where Groszman married, had three children, and built up a successful industrial company. In 2003, he moved with his wife to Florida. He published his book My Roots, My Destiny in Spanish in 2009, followed by the German and English translations in August and September 2011, respectively. He is now working on his second endeavor, a family saga in the context of the history of the German Jews.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Annotation. Christou explores the phenomenon of 'return migration' in Greece through the settlement and identification processes of second-generation Greek-American returning migrants. She examines the meanings attached to the experience of return migration. The concepts of 'home' and 'belonging' figure prominently in the return migratory project which entails relocation and displacement as well as adjustment and alienation of bodies and selves. Furthermore, Christou considers the multiple interactions (social, cultural, political) between the place of origin and the place of destination; network ties; historical and global forces in the shaping of return migrant behaviour; and expressions of identity. The human geography of return migration extends beyond geographic movement into a diasporic journey involving (re)constructions of homeness and belongingness in the ancestral homeland. Book excerpt: Dear readers, this book is written about personal experiences and growth in eighty-five years of life. I’ve been putting it on paper for the last thirty to forty years, and that is what you hold in your hand. What this book hopefully will accomplish is to inspire and enlighten. In the process of reading these shared life stories, whether it brings a smile to your face or perhaps a tear in your eye, it is in the same manner that it did to us while living the stories out in real life. The stories also will describe some of the Amish culture and beliefs. Each story is true, even the ones that seem to be unbelievable. The stories are of experiences that have happened from youth to adulthood. The lessons learned here are invaluable to all—young, old, women, or men. Also included in this book are religious beliefs that have changed and developed over the years. Once you have read even one line of this book, or if you read it from cover to cover and found it inspiring, praise God and give him the glory. In the name of Jesus Christ, his bond servant.

Book excerpt: From the author of the landmark Secret Teachings of All Ages comes two classic works on the mysterious origins and unique mission of America: The Secret Destiny of America and America’s Assignment with Destiny. Focusing on often-forgotten moments in history, Manley P. Hall proposes that there was a Great Plan put forth one thousand years before our nation’s founding: humanistic and mystical organizations wished for the continent to be the location for an experiment in self-government and religious freedom. As one of the leading esoteric scholars of the twentieth century, Hall offers an intriguing view of our past, discussing everything from the symbolism of the Great Seal of the U.S. to the prophecy announced at George Washington’s birth.

Book excerpt: When Ben and Barbara Girod married in 1973, they had no idea their new life together would be one of shared burdens and blessings, lovely dreams and bitter disappointments. Both products of a strict and conservative Amish upbringing, they sought to know Jesus, and they wanted more than the form and tradition of their Amish upbringing. In An Amish Journey to Forgiveness, author Ben Girod tells his remarkable and unusual story of Amish life, reflecting his painstaking social and spiritual journey over many decades. His responsibilities as a bishop and church leader were manifold as he dealt with the predominant and inherent traditions of the Old Order Amish church. A divine encounter with God brought peace and joy to their lives, but this was soon followed by misunderstanding and rejection by family, church members, and leaders, ultimately ending in excommunication from their respective district. Devastated, confused, and unable to understand why this was happening, they turned to the Lord in search of meaning and purpose. An Amish Journey to Forgiveness shares their story as they began to understand that God was allowing such persecution and suffering to draw them closer to Him. It shows how God used Girod to bring about an awareness of the need for healing and reconciliation throughout the body.

Book excerpt: This book is the natural unfolding of my own unique destiny thread that I picked up by way of sacred embroidery of my Slavic destiny rug called "Rushnyk" in May of 2017. It continued to unfold in most mysterious but somehow more and more conscious ways through planting seeds of my Celtic Birthtree "Rowan" along powerful places on my journey back to my roots with the Transsibirian Railway through Russia, Kasakhstan (my country of origin) and Mongolia while also embroidering and holding the thread of my ancestral lineage. It continued with powerful connection with the three Norns of the past, present and future and the World Tree "Yggdrasil", all the way to simply becoming a vessel for co-creative destiny weaving together and through the Norns, my Soul and Source. This book is a documentation of my own heroine's journey ever unfolding through "seeing" signs and symbols in embroidered textiles, runes and other interconnected messages in the everyday life with divine eyes. Come with me on this wondrous journey called life and start weaving your own destiny with ALL that you ARE, with all your senses and ALL seeing and feeling. This is the mysterious art of weaving your own destiny- the WYRDING WAY.Testimonials:"Erika shares so very generously the insights and knowledge she has been given during her travels in the Altaimountainregion and it feels very special and personal to be able to take part in this wisdom. It's a rich travelers story to oneself and reading Erika's book I can see the women in Mongolia and Kazakhstan in front of me stitching their destiny thread, and with their help and the inspiration from Erika's book, which can really work as a guide, I hope to be able to pick up my own thread!" (Johanna Norrbo, journalist and writer, Sweden) "The Wyrding Way is an amazing account of Erika's journey in which she masterfully interweaves her life story about finding her roots with her integral vision on life and with the rich and ancient wisdom from the metaphysical world. She is an inspiring example for others in consciously creating your life through what she calls 'destiny weaving'. (Eric Creemers, Filmmaker and Integral Life Coach, Netherlands) "An inspiring, heartfelt and beautifully researched story of our interconnectedness to Life and each other. Erika demonstrates how we can blossom into our Destiny by finding our roots and destiny thread and digging deep." (Julia Maria Maurer, Author, USA)"I was excited by Erika's journey, meeting her teachers, and left anticipating seeing more of that fabulous embroidery." Book excerpt: "My name's King Clyde The Destroyer and I'm fourteen-years-old and I'm tough as nails and I've lived in a dump my whole life..."Meet Clyde, a little boy whose whole world has been trash since the day he was born. In the massive garbage dump he calls home, Clyde navigates a dangerous landscape of trash mountains and the ever-present dread of what lies out there in The Great Beyond - the cracked and lightning-kissed land outside his Kingdom where he has never ventured to go. Within those walls, Clyde rules over the land as King, imagining himself a Hollywood stuntman as he "races" cars around The Used Car Lot, reading books at The Library, or reminiscing about long-lost family vacations while at The Memory Palace. Beyond those walls are dangers unimaginable, such as the gruesome monsters Clyde's mother warned him about - the ones that will eat his face off if he dares step foot beyond the Kingdom walls. But that's not the only warning his mother gave, for there's always the danger of invading Out-of-Towners - gasmasked nomads known to roam the dry land, stopping off at lifeless towns and garbage dumps to pillage for supplies and food, where anything or anyone could be on the menu. Yes, as a genuine momma's boy, Clyde takes these warnings to heart, but when a new family of Out-of-Towners lays down roots in his Kingdom, things are going to change for Clyde who'll soon learn to see garbage for what it really is - and where the monsters really live.
