Book excerpt: Enjoy a steamy enemies to lovers romance from Lynn Dare, author of The Perfect Man. Number 1: Try to be nicer to her. I doubt he'll ever manage that. Hey there, it's yours truly – the untamed, daring one. My life used to be a constant party, quite literally. Well, that’s in the past. My carefree days of feuding with my neighbor and conquering the business world came crashing down with a single accident and the loss of two lives. Now, I'm entrusted with the care of a child – a living, breathing kid with all the demands that come with her. I love her, but I never signed up for this. And I definitely didn't sign up for a war with my enemy neighbor, who's always watching as I struggle through the biggest test of my life. He's ever-present, fixing my deck, sending his puppy over to bring a smile to my niece's face, and even baking for us—well, it's worse than it sounds. There's the shouting, and all the complications that follow. I want him to keep despising me, to witness the train wreck I've become and help me forget with angry hate-kisses… and more. You know what they say… two disasters make an even bigger disaster. No resolution list of his is ever going to change that. My Enemy's Resolution List is a full-length steamy romantic comedy standalone with plenty of laughs and swoons.

Book excerpt: Number 6: He’s too pretty. Red flag, right? According to my list, it is. Hello, it’s me, the woman you may remember from the viral video where I tackled a drunk Santa. In case you’re wondering, short girls can be quite determined. Like when dating. I am apparently hell-bent on choosing the wrong men. Men who either break my heart or my faith in the human race. Hence, a red flag list. It isn’t until my two best friends read it that I realize, every single item is something that describes him. The ex who chose the spotlight over me, the one I can’t seem to get away from - or over. And now, thanks to my heroic takedown of our town's sole Santa candidate for the Christmas festival, we’re desperate, and he’s there. Always the hero. To everyone except me. I can do this. Keep my distance from Mr. Sexy in a Santa Suit and remember every warning sign flashing over his head. But it’s been years. What if everything I believed about him no longer holds true? What if I wasn’t the only one who broke that day? My Hot Ex's Santa List is a full length standalone romantic comedy. Enjoy a second chance romance with plenty of laughs and even more swoons.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses the universal theological dimension of reconciliation in the context of the Israeli Messianic Jewish and Palestinian Christian divide. Palestinian Christians and Israeli Messianic Jews share a belief in Jesus as the son of God and Messiah. Often, though, that is all they have in common. This remarkable book, written in collaboration by a local Palestinian Christian and an Israeli Messianic Jew, seeks to bridge this gap by addressing head on, divisive theological issues (as well as their political implications) such as land, covenant, prophecy and eschatology which separate their two communities. The struggle for reconciliation is painful and often extremely difficult for all of us. This unique work seeks to show a way forward. COMMENDATIONS "In a world that wants to see only one side of every conflict (and this one especially), where people believe only their own propaganda, and where many Christians inhabit hard shells of theological, political and apocalyptic certainties, this book is a bravely different voice. Rather, it is two voices talking carefully, honestly, graciously, respectfully and truthfully to each other - as sisters and brothers in the Messiah should. This is a unique conversation in which each partner, Messianic Jewish Israeli and Palestinian Christian, gives full expression to all that they are and think and feel about themselves and the conflict in their land. We are treated to some stretching theological debate and some honest self-criticism. But above all we come to share the hope and courage that shines through the pain and struggle." - Christopher J. H. Wright, International Ministries Director, Langham Partnership, UK "The Palestinian-Israeli divide may be the most intractable conflict of our time. With great courage, honestly facing the turbulent political, historical, and theological landscape which authentic reconciliation must engage, Munayer and Loden open up fresh space. Given the divides between their communities, this book is a remarkable achievement, a cry of hope from the land where Jesus walked." - Chris Rice, Director of the Center for Reconciliation, Duke Divinity School, USA

Book excerpt: In the violent world of radical extremists, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." This study reveals how that precept plays out in the unexpected bonding between militant Islam and the extreme right in America and Europe. It provides an insightful and sane look at the possibilities for collaboration between these groups.

Book excerpt: The archetype of 'my enemy's enemy is my friend', India's political and economic presence in Afghanistan is often viewed as a Machiavellian ploy aimed against Pakistan. The first of its kind, this book interrogates that simplistic yet powerful geopolitical narrative and asks what truly drives India's Afghanistan policy.

Because the road to victory is paved with bad intentions—and lies, betrayal and deception are all in play. So who are the players in this treacherous game . . . ? Countess Krak: victim of a spectacular kidnapping, she is bound for a distant dungeon where she faces a venomous fate. . . . Royal Officer Jettero Heller: convinced the Countess is dead and overcome by grief, he is holed up in a Connecticut roadhouse—and standing square in an assassin’s crosshairs. . . . Soltan Gris: together with a young temptress named Teenie Whopper, he undertakes a drug-fueled voyage across the Atlantic. But the journey’s about to be cut short, as he goes from getting stoned with Teenie to nearly getting stoned to death in Turkey. . . . So who is in command? Who is the puppet master pulling the strings? And, finally, is there any hope for planet Earth? The answers lie at the end of an extraordinary VOYAGE OF VENGEANCE. “The Mission Earth books form a true saga—in the grand tradition!” —ROBERT BLOCH, AUTHOR OF PSYCHO

Book excerpt: The topic of proxy war is currently subject to intense debate with reference to US, British and Israeli accusations that Iran is sponsoring subversive and insurgent movements from Lebanon to Afghanistan; contemporary academic and media controversies over the effect of international assistance to the Afghan mujahidin in the subsequent destabilisation of the country; and the contentious circumstances surrounding the Russo-Georgian war of 2008, and the 'independence' of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. While there is no shortage of academic literature dealing with specific cases of proxy warfare, there is no work providing an overarching analysis of the factors which lead to this type of conflict, or the potential consequences for the states concerned, the non-state proxies and their external patrons. Using examples from post-1945 history, and focusing on three case studies (the Afghan war of 1978-1989, Lebanon 1975-1990, Angola 1975-1991), Geraint Hughes offers terminology intended to clarify scholarly understanding of proxy warfare, a framework for understanding why states seek to use proxies (insurgent groups, militias, terrorist movements, mercenaries, and even organised criminal groups) in order to fulfil strategic objectives, and an analysis of the potential impact of such an indirect means of waging war on not only the states that are subjected to this phenomenon, but also the proxies, their sponsors and the wider international community. My Enemy's Enemy has a historical focus, but will be of utility to contemporary security scholars, and those involved in political/military policy.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Give Us This Day is a unique daily devotional commentary for the entire New Testament based on the ancient method called lectio divina. Lectio divina, or "divine reading," is the method used by the early church and countless Christians through the centuries to read the Scriptures to form and transform the soul more than merely to inform the mind. Give Us This Day deals in depth with entire passages and their contexts. Rather than selecting only certain portions of the New Testament to write about, Fr. Charles has written a devotional for each and every passage of the New Testament. Fr. Charles writes for the whole person: he's not afraid to use his sense of humor, and he carefully relates the Bible not only to the individual's life but also to the life of the Church. At the end of each day's devotional, an appropriate Prayer is offered, as well as Points for Further Reflection on the day's lesson. Each devotional concludes with a suggested Resolution to put into effect what the Spirit has stirred up in the heart of the reader during the course of his reading, meditation, and prayer.

The history of the U.S. in the Middle East, then, becomes an especially revealing mirror on America's view of its role in the wider world. In this wise, objective, and illuminating history, Lawrence Freedman shows how three key events in 1978-1979 helped establish the foundations for U.S. involvement in the Middle East that would last for thirty years, without offering any straightforward or bloodless exit options: the Camp David summit leading to the Israel-Egypt Treaty; the Iranian Islamic revolution leading to the Shah's departure followed by the hostage crisis; and the socialist revolution in Afghanistan, resulting in the doomed Soviet intervention. Drawing on his considerable expertise, Freedman makes clear how America's strategic choices in those and subsequent crises led us to where we are today.
