Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A book of over 100 love letters written in poetic form. Unsent letters written to an unnamed individual or thought only known as Lovely, Lovely Soul. An idea sparked from A.R. Gurney's Love Letters play only letters never sent. The trials and spilled ink thoughts fighting depression, anxiety, adolescent love, inward torture, and fighting through painful thoughts many of us can relate to by putting pen to paper. If you enjoyed "the words I wish I said" by Caitlin Kelly you should find this compilation enjoyable. I started writing these letters back in 1997 after I moved away from New Jersey out to Arizona for school. While taking what I had for granted, I did not believe that my childhood was... shall we say, "the best?" Moving away meant a fresh start, a new life, freedom. Getting as far away from the small, one square mile town I grew up in and out into the wider world where I always felt like I was meant for bigger and brighter things. I craved that freedom and could not wait for it. But a few mere months before I was destined to leave... something tragic happened. I, in my unlearned youth, discovered the sensation of what I believed to be, "Love". It ended up being so fleeting as my time was so short before departure to the desert. Heartbreak was inevitable. It was the first of many that would happen in my life and I would go on to develop this concept of a small light... willow wisp like. Always bouncing from one girl to the next. Getting close, but always fleeing right at the moment when it was about to be captured. It seemed like a repelling magnet getting just close enough for an attraction before flipping and bounding away from a certain distance. Changing its poles once again and becoming attractive. That seemed to be the metaphor to me of what "Love" meant to me and what it would be for my remaining days. The wisp always moving, teasing, getting closer, and running away. "Catch me if you can" it would haunt. "Catch me if you can" and like the fool, I was destined to be, I would continue to chase. I have finally compiled these poems if you will, which I wrote off and on for the last 20+ years. While I know my style in some of them work, and others fall very short of publishable work, it is my life crafted on paper that I felt compelled to share. Knock something off the bucket list, if you will. Not just that, however, more to share with those out there that can relate. Understand and realize that you are not alone even in the moments when you look around and only darkness is staring back at you. Time does heal and as we mature in life we learn to appreciate fleeting moments and understand that sometimes things do happen for a reason. Whether you push your wisp away or it flees on its own, it's always on the horizon. While its warmth might get cold, its light still shines bright and waits for you to "catch it if you can". Enjoy as you may.

Book excerpt: Epithalamium of Prose, Poetry, and Puzzles for Aliza and Yhali takes its humble place in the celebrated tradition of wedding tributes going back to Sappho of Lesbos 2600 years ago and, perhaps, Song of Songs in Hebrew Scriptures earlier than that. A Greek master of the genre was Theocritus, to be followed by the Roman Catullus, Italian painters in the Renaissance, British and American composers and poets, and, of course, others far and wide. Several guest poetsapart from the editor/author and poet himselfgrace the “Poetry” section of the book. Four contributors are family. Six contributors are members of the Kings Point Creative Writers Club in Delray Beach, Florida. The literary achievement of each contribution is unique; the composite affect of the whole is powerful. Puzzles in the concluding section of the book, custom-made by South Florida resource “Braintertainer” Judy Herman with clues and challenges honoring the couple, provide enjoyable mental exercise for puzzle pliers.

It was raining, of course. And he and Sylvie were arguing as he drove down the slick road. No one ever says what they were arguing about. Other people think it's not important. They do not know there is another story. The story that lurks between the facts. What they do not know—the cause of the argument—is crucial. So let me tell you...

Underneath run very deep and damaging secrets. What really happened in the car accident that Daddy caused? And why is Mom never home, always running far away to pursue some new dream? The girls themselves have become hopelessly divided over the years. Sick of losing Daddy’s game of favorites, Raeanne turns to painkillers, alcohol, and sex to dull her pain her anger. Kaeleigh tries to be her father’s perfect little flower, but being the misplaced focus of his sexual attention has her seeking control anywhere she can—even if it means cutting herself and unhealthy binge and purge eating. Secrets like the ones the twins are harboring are not meant to be kept—from each other or anyone else. Before long, it's obvious that neither sister can handle their problems alone, and one must step up to save the other, but the question is…who?

Book excerpt: As a boy Yeats dramatized himself as a sage, magician or poet, and when fellow poet Katharine Tynan first met him in 1885 he seemed to her all dreams and gentleness. His lifelong interest in the myths, legends and folk history of his native Ireland, his fascination with magic and the occult, the theatre, language, politics, love and friendship are all prevalent in this collection of poems. He was a visionary poet and uses symbols to evoke rather than to describe, and in 1923 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. The book is illustrated by a range of predominantly Irish painters, including the poet's younger brother, Jack B. Yeats.

Book excerpt: All This Thinking explores the deep friendship and the critical and creative thinking between Bernadette Mayer and Clark Coolidge, focusing on an intense three-year period in their three decades of correspondence. These fiercely independent American avant-garde poets have influenced and shaped poets and poetic movements by looking for radical poetics in the everyday. This collection of letters provides insight into the poetic scenes that followed World War II while showcasing the artistic practices of Mayer and Coolidge themselves. A fascinating look at both the poets and the world surrounding them, All This Thinking will appeal to all readers interested in post–World War II poetry.

Book excerpt: BOOKER PRIZE WINNER • NATIONAL BESTSELLER • A novel that follows a middle-aged man as he contends with a past he never much thought about—until his closest childhood friends return with a vengeance: one of them from the grave, another maddeningly present. A novel so compelling that it begs to be read in a single setting, The Sense of an Ending has the psychological and emotional depth and sophistication of Henry James at his best, and is a stunning achievement in Julian Barnes's oeuvre. Tony Webster thought he left his past behind as he built a life for himself, and his career has provided him with a secure retirement and an amicable relationship with his ex-wife and daughter, who now has a family of her own. But when he is presented with a mysterious legacy, he is forced to revise his estimation of his own nature and place in the world.
