Book excerpt: "The world needs to hear your voice!" - Carlo Cirillo Brooke has made this book about her biggest adversity and takes you on a journey to visit everything compiled during the process of facing it. On top of this, Brooke explains the purpose of going through hardship and illustrates the importance of ''blossoming pain into beauty''. Brooke makes mental health known, she amplifies her voice to make it known further and to help people understand that mental health is normal; so to not dismiss it, how to raise your truth in being aware of it and how you are also here to deliver impact. "We don''t get given anything in our life that we cannot handle." - Brooke Herft AN INSIGHT INTO THE SIX CHAPTERS: 1. You will never be prepared is the first chapter of the book and it will take you on a journey about visiting why we are never prepared for anything in life, and how life has a way of delivering at the most unexpected of times. It discusses different modes of the nervous system, and it also goes through the tornado of emotions and how your mind and body are never ready for the rumble of it all. 2. Come hell or high water is the second chapter of the book and you will be looking into what I personally and truthfully felt during my biggest adversity; in the very moment I found out and how I carried on after. It dives deep into feeling numb, sad, angry and being scared. It touches on bits and pieces from the mention of the ''sympathetic nervous system'' and ''survival modes'' and how these powerful emotions were created to protect and save me. 3. Detachment and rebirth is the third chapter of the book which analyses how we can nurture ourselves through aspects of detaching and letting go of things and feeling steady with our second chances life provides (rebirth). It grasps on the concept of focusing on yourself wholeheartedly and also understanding that I knew that I deserved better within myself. It encompasses your true power of finding what you really need. 4. Do not dismiss it is the fourth chapter of the book and you will be encouraged to understand the normality of your emotions, thought patterns, thought processes and how the emotional weight lifting game is interlinking to allow your body to function and serve you. It goes through being kind to yourself by figuring out how to cater for you and your needs and prioritising yourself first before anyone else and feeling safe in your body. 5. Love, compassion and kindness is the fifth chapter of the book and it is probably my most favourite chapter because it entails the beauty within painful circumstances. It delivers information on how emotional hardship creates a lot of baggage, but how we can utilise this emotional baggage to redirect us to a place of love, compassion and kindness and how everything we feel in the midst of pain doesn''t make us any less worthy. 6. Bloom with truth is the sixth and final chapter of the book and is my second favourite; hence why I wanted to go out with a BANG! This one is all about the promotion of mental health, reducing the stigma and how we can ignite our power and voice to stand up for the truth and be part of a historical movement of making psychological wounds just as important as physical wounds. It also unpacks the truth behind the definition of ''mental health'' and what it is lacking. It also goes through my manifestations and dreams of where mental health can be. The end of the book has journal prompts and extra lines which you can write in or journal out separately to get your mind thinking more. I hope this means something. Affirmation - "I will allow myself to be centred by my heart."
