Detailierte Vorgaben von Seiten der Führungskraft sind aufgrund der Komplexität der Inhalte nicht mehr möglich. Vielmehr muss sich der Führende heute darauf beschränken, die Spezialisten zu koordinieren. Der Antrieb zur Erledigung einer Aufgabe kann somit nur zum Teil von außen kommen. Eine große Bedeutung fällt dem inneren Antrieb der Person zu, der Motivation. Der Aspekt der Motivation stellt auch hier eine wesentliche Rolle dar. Motivation wird damit zu einer wichtigen Forderung für Führungskräfte. Menschen werden auf verschiedene Arten motiviert, es ist möglich ihre Motivation von außen zu steuern und anzuregen. Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es, die klassischen Motivationstheorien zu erklären sowie Wege aufzuzeigen wie Mitarbeiter durch Ihre Führungskraft motiviert werden können und welche Grenzen es gibt. Die Frage lautet: Was motiviert Mitarbeiter und wie kann die Führung auf ihre Motivation Einfluss nehmen?
