Ces dispositifs équipent les avions et génèrent une contre-poussée qui permet de freiner l'appareil lorsque celui-ci est au sol en phase d'atterrissage. L'écoulement sort des inverseurs de poussée sous forme de jet. Un tel écoulement est complexe et s'étend sur une grande distance. Nous avons alors opté pour la méthode particulaire de type « Vortex Blob ». Le domaine d'étude est infini, la résolution est instationnaire et la discrétisation limitée aux zones rotationnelles. Celles-ci se retrouvent sous forme de particules porteuses d'une information tourbillonnaire que l'on suit dans leur mouvement de manière lagrangienne. Dans un premier temps, nous passons en revue tous les types d'écoulement de jet et nous ressortons les principales caractéristiques, notamment pour l'écoulement de jet à buse débouchant dans un écoulement transverse où une paire de tourbillons contra-rotatifs apparaît et persiste loin en aval. L'activité tourbillonnaire est intense et l'évolution du jet varie selon le rapport d'injection du jet (vitesse du jet rapporté à la vitesse de l'écoulement transverse). Nous abordons ensuite l'aspect numérique de l'étude présentant la méthode particulaire. Nous utilisons une méthode particulaire tridimensionnelle à laquelle nous avons adapté un algorithme rapide de type « Tree code », un remmaillage global de l'écoulement ainsi qu'un schéma de diffusion de type « Particle Strenght Exchange » qui peut prendre en compte un modèle de Simulation des Grandes Échelles (SGE). Le code est de plus entièrement parallélisé grâce aux librairies MPI. Puis, nous traitons de manière académique les simulations de jets transverses. Nous observons et étudions l'évolution des structures tourbillonnaires existantes dans de tels écoulements en fonction du rapport d'injection du jet, d'une variation temporelle de la vitesse initiale du jet, etc... Dans un dernier temps, nous présentons une méthode hybride de couplage entre des simulations eulériennes et nos simulation lagrangiennes pour traiter des cas industriels. Après une validation de ce méthode de couplage avec décomposition de domaine, nous présentons des simulation complètes d'un avion en phase d'atterrissage. Enfin, nous mettons en évidence un cas de ré ingestion déjà observé expérimentalement en soufflerie.
