Ces objectifs couvrent l'ensemble des relations de l'entreprise avec les différentes parties bénéficiaires des résultats de ses activités et avec lesquelles elle interagit. L'objet des indicateurs de performance est de mesurer la réussite de l'entreprise à répondre aux attentes et besoins de ces parties : clients, actionnaires, personnel, collectivité... et à ses propres attentes. Le décideur a besoin d'évaluer chacune des alternatives selon chacun des critères de choix retenus et qui représentent les objectifs à atteindre, et d'évaluer globalement chacune de ces alternatives selon l'ensemble des critères. Ce travail se place dans le contexte d'aide à la décision managériale de haut niveau où les actions sont des projets potentiels de développement des activités de l'entreprise. L'approche proposée, désignée par SimulValor, utilise la dynamique des systèmes pour modéliser et simuler les alternatives d'action et en évaluer les performances ; et elle utilise la théorie de l'utilité pour l'agrégation de ces performances. En résumé, l'approche SimulValor vise l'évaluation de différentes alternatives d'action concernant la configuration des activités de l'entreprise en simulant les flux de valeurs qui lient les actions aux performances et les performances aux valeurs générées aux parties bénéficiaires. La difficulté principale de la méthode est l'extraction, l'harmonisation et la quantification des données qualitatives qui caractérisent les liens d'influences (et surtout les fonctions d'utilité) existants entre les éléments modélisés.

Ainsi, l’avantage concurrentiel est devenu un atout majeur sur lequel tous les efforts d’amélioration de l’organisation des entreprises doivent se porter pour conduire à une pérennité et prospérité de l’entreprise. Notre champ d’étude s’est centré sur l’analyse des performances en entreprise industrielle et a fourni une base de réflexion sur la notion de valeur et les concepts adjacents et soustendus. Elle a prouvé que le processus d’évaluation est essentiel à l’analyse des performances en vue de conduire une prise de décision sur des critères pertinents. La détermination d’indicateurs adaptés à cette prise de décision est capitale pour mener une analyse adéquate des effets de cette décision sur le produit, sur le système industriel et son fonctionnement mais aussi sur leur environnement. La définition d’une démarche de mise en place d’un système d’indicateurs de performance est indispensable à l’argumentation d’une prise de décision et la simulation de l’application de ce choix de décision sur le système industriel. La connaissance détaillée du système industriel au travers de ses activités constitue un prérequis absolu à l’applicabilité de cette démarche. Le concept d’activité est donc central pour nos modélisations. Une méthode outillée d’évaluation des critères de valeur (comme un indicateur de performance) a été adoptée. Elle se concrétise par l’élaboration d’une démarche d’analyse de la performance par la modélisation et la simulation de la chaîne de production de valeur en entreprise. Pour répondre à des impératifs d’opérationnalisation, la méthode est intégrée à la démarche d’Analyse de la Valeur et apporte un outil complémentaire au choix de solution de conception. L’adoption de la structure fonction/comportement/structure (FBS) de définition du produit permet cette intégration. Couplé à un outil de simulation de flux à évènements discrets, il devient alors possible de simuler l’ évolution des caractéristiques du produit et du processus, puis d’évaluer au final la chaîne de valeur complète du système industriel modélisé. La prise de décision est alors assistée en simulant des alternatives de solutions, et en comparant les différentes alternatives grâce à une démarche outillée nommée VCS pour Value Chains Simulator. Une étude de cas menée dans le domaine de la microélectronique permet d’illustrer l’effet de différents paramétrages des variables d’industrialisation sur la valeur d’un système électronique.
