Book Synopsis Damage Assessment of Structures V by : J.M. Dulieu-Barton
Download or read book Damage Assessment of Structures V written by J.M. Dulieu-Barton and published by Trans Tech Publications Ltd. This book was released on 2003-07-15 with total page 600 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume presents the proceedings of the fifth in the celebrated series of biennial international conferences on the Damage Assessment of Structures (DAMAS 2003). Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS). Studies of damage evolution, location and characterization are primordial aspects of the rapidly expanding field of SHM (structural health monitoring) and are major themes in this volume. In order to analyze efficiently the data-rich information provided by monitoring and by NDE (non-destructive evaluation) techniques, it is necessary to use advanced signal-processing procedures. Therefore, a significant fraction of the present book is dedicated to the optimization of signal processing and computation methods.

Book Synopsis Bond Graph in Modeling, Simulation and Fault Identification by : Amalendu Mukherjee
Download or read book Bond Graph in Modeling, Simulation and Fault Identification written by Amalendu Mukherjee and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2006-06-15 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bond graphs have become a part of undergraduate and postgraduate curricula at technological and engineering institutes. Many industries, organizations, universities, and academic institutions have included bond graphs in their research, development, and design activities. In recent years, the range of applications of bond graphs has enhanced owing to sustained research in this field. Bond Graph in Modeling, Simulation and Fault Identification is an outcome of the authors' teaching System-modeling, Dynamics and Control through bond graphs for the last 15 years. It is organized into 16 chapters and is narrative in style to make it easily comprehensible to students. Each chapter is appended with a set of problems divided into two groups: problems to be solved by students for usual practice and project-type problems.

Download or read book System Dynamics written by Osama Gad and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2024-09-27 with total page 550 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: System Dynamics: Modeling, Simulation, and Response covers linearity-based modeling techniques before delving into nonlinear systems. It compares the Bond Graph technique against traditional techniques (Newton's law, Kirchhoff's law, the law of the conservation of energy, and the heat transfer law). Presenting transient response analyses of first- and second-order systems subjected to various inputs, the book provides a thorough discussion of computational analyses of transient responses using MATLABĀ®/Simulink and 20-sim software. It introduces the Lagrangian method and its application in handling mechanical and electrical systems. The book reviews the classical method for solving differential equations and includes Laplace transforms. The book is intended for upper-level undergraduate mechanical and aerospace engineering students taking system dynamics courses. Instructors will be able to utilize a Solutions Manual and Figure Slides for their courses.
Book Synopsis The Chemical Bond in Inorganic Chemistry by : Ian David Brown
Download or read book The Chemical Bond in Inorganic Chemistry written by Ian David Brown and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the bond valence model, a description of acid-base bonding which is becoming increasingly popular particularly in fields such as materials science and mineralogy where solid state inorganic chemistry is important. Recent improvements in crystal structure determination have allowed the model to become more quantitative. Unlike other models of inorganic chemical bonding, the bond valence model is simple, intuitive, and predictive, and can be used for analysing crystal structures and the conceptual modelling of local as well as extended structures. This is the first book to explore in depth the theoretical basis of the model and to show how it can be applied to synthetic and solution chemistry. It emphasizes the separate roles of the constraints of chemistry and of three-dimensional space by analysing the chemistry of solids. Many applications of the model in physics, materials science, chemistry, mineralogy, soil science, surface science, and molecular biology are reviewed. The final chapter describes how the bond valence model relates to and represents a simplification of other models of inorganic chemical bonding.
