Book Synopsis Invariant Function Spaces on Homogeneous Manifolds of Lie Groups and Applications by : Mark Lʹvovich Agranovskiĭ

This book was released on 1993-01-01 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book studies translation-invariant function spaces and algebras on homogeneous manifolds. The central topic is the relationship between the homogeneous structure of a manifold and the class of translation-invariant function spaces and algebras on the manifold. The author obtains classifications of translation-invariant spaces and algebras of functions on semisimple and nilpotent Lie groups, Riemann symmetric spaces, and bounded symmetric domains. When such classifications are possible, they lead in many cases to new characterizations of the classical function spaces, from the point of view of their group of admissible changes of variable. The algebra of holomorphic functions plays an essential role in these classifications when a homogeneous complex or $CR$-structure exists on the manifold. This leads to new characterizations of holomorphic functions and their boundary values for one- and multidimensional complex domains.

Book Synopsis Operator Theory in Function Spaces by : Kehe Zhu
Download or read book Operator Theory in Function Spaces written by Kehe Zhu and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2007 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers Toeplitz operators, Hankel operators, and composition operators on both the Bergman space and the Hardy space. The setting is the unit disk and the main emphasis is on size estimates of these operators: boundedness, compactness, and membership in the Schatten classes. Most results concern the relationship between operator-theoretic properties of these operators and function-theoretic properties of the inducing symbols. Thus a good portion of the book is devoted to the study of analytic function spaces such as the Bloch space, Besov spaces, and BMOA, whose elements are to be used as symbols to induce the operators we study. The book is intended for both research mathematicians and graduate students in complex analysis and operator theory. The prerequisites are minimal; a graduate course in each of real analysis, complex analysis, and functional analysis should sufficiently prepare the reader for the book. Exercises and bibliographical notes are provided at the end of each chapter. These notes will point the reader to additional results and problems. Kehe Zhu is a professor of mathematics at the State University of New York at Albany. His previous books include Theory of Bergman Spaces (Springer, 2000, with H. Hedenmalm and B. Korenblum) and Spaces of Holomorphic Functions in the Unit Ball (Springer, 2005). His current research interests are holomorphic function spaces and operators acting on them.

Book Synopsis M-Ideals in Banach Spaces and Banach Algebras by : Peter Harmand
Download or read book M-Ideals in Banach Spaces and Banach Algebras written by Peter Harmand and published by Springer. This book was released on 2006-11-15 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive exposition of M-ideal theory, a branch ofgeometric functional analysis which deals with certain subspaces of Banach spaces arising naturally in many contexts. Starting from the basic definitions the authors discuss a number of examples of M-ideals (e.g. the closed two-sided ideals of C*-algebras) and develop their general theory. Besides, applications to problems from a variety of areas including approximation theory, harmonic analysis, C*-algebra theory and Banach space geometry are presented. The book is mainly intended as a reference volume for researchers working in one of these fields, but it also addresses students at the graduate or postgraduate level. Each of its six chapters is accompanied by a Notes-and-Remarks section which explores further ramifications of the subject and gives detailed references to the literature. An extensive bibliography is included.
Book Synopsis A Primer on the Dirichlet Space by : Omar El-Fallah
Download or read book A Primer on the Dirichlet Space written by Omar El-Fallah and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2014-01-16 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Dirichlet space is one of the three fundamental Hilbert spaces of holomorphic functions on the unit disk. It boasts a rich and beautiful theory, yet at the same time remains a source of challenging open problems and a subject of active mathematical research. This book is the first systematic account of the Dirichlet space, assembling results previously only found in scattered research articles, and improving upon many of the proofs. Topics treated include: the Douglas and Carleson formulas for the Dirichlet integral, reproducing kernels, boundary behaviour and capacity, zero sets and uniqueness sets, multipliers, interpolation, Carleson measures, composition operators, local Dirichlet spaces, shift-invariant subspaces, and cyclicity. Special features include a self-contained treatment of capacity, including the strong-type inequality. The book will be valuable to researchers in function theory, and with over 100 exercises it is also suitable for self-study by graduate students.
