Tao a large degree the director of missions is geared to and shared with these men. It is my responsibility and privilege to be available to our pastors for help in the work of the association when needed. It is important that the pastors feel free to come to the director, the pastors' conference, and associational executive committee meetings with good news or bad with praise or gripes, with joy or sorrow with the confidence and assurance that there is someone with whom he can confide and whom he may share his ministry as friends, and co - workers. Every pastor is due my respect as a person and a man whom God has called, not only into, the ministry but to a specific congregation. Therefore; I must never forget that he is the pastor, not me. I must not bypass him to get to his people, but must learn to work with him, not as an overload but as a co-worker. Though I may not agree completely with everything he does or the way he does it, I must remember that he is the pastor and that God will work through his life and personality just as he will work in mine. I believe much can be accomplished toward good relations between the pastors, the association, and the director by a genuine spirit of openness and frankness with one another, seasoned with Christian Love and a real appreciation of good qualities In the pastors work and ministry. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Minutes of the Fifty-Third Annual Session of the Reedy Creek Missionary Baptist Association: Held With the Shiloh Baptist Church, Arcola, Warren Co., N. C., September 15th, 16th, 17th, 1931 Article 1. This Association Shall be known as the Reedy Creek Missionary Baptist Association of the State of North Carolina. Art. 2. This Association shall be composed of Ministers and Messengers from regular Baptist Churches in good standing, and in full practice of the doctrine and faith, discipline and ordinance of God, and reception of the same into this body shall be by the unanimous consent of the body. Art. 3 The object of this Association shall be fraternal inter course and advisory council to foster and support the cause of Christ and His Churches, Sabbath Schools, Home and Foreign Mission Work, the Reedy Creek Institute of Littleton, N. C and to advance the cause of religious education in every possible way. Art. 4. The Officers of this Association shall be Moderator, vice-moderator, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, . Statistical Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor and an Executive Board of nine members who shall discharge the duties of Executive Boards of similar organizations and who shall be Ordaining Coun cil subject to call of the Moderator of the Association with the Recording Secretary of the Board. The manner of electing them being-left to the discretion of the Association. Art. 5. The management of the Reedy Creek Institute shall be in the hands of the Board of Trustees consisting of seven (7 members, five (5) of whom shall be a quorum.
