Book excerpt: "Min Jung-Yeon, born in 1979 in South Korea, is the prize-winner of the third Prize of the Club of the Partners. The jury chose to reward this young artist stemming from the National Fine Arts Academy of Paris, for her delicate and sensitive work marked with great coherence as for her creative imagination. The catalogue, Demander le chemin à mes chaussures, gathers 22 works on paper, realized in pencil, heightened sometimes with watercolor or acrylic. The delicacy of the lines and the control of the composition are characteristic elements for the work of this artist. Organic, sometimes vegetable forms are linked together in a sort of auto-development; clouds of smoke often develop, serving at the same time as screens hiding parts of the image, and as motives in themselves, sorts of disturbing proliferating nebulas. Lines break symmetries, and under appreareances of serenity and peace of mind, the works of Min Jung-Yeon, deserted by human beings most of the time, give to see a strangeness which can assimilate it to surrealist compostions or more simply unreal ones. We may be in front of the silence before the accident; certainly wihin a dreamed universe which, quitely, insinuates and spreads anxiety."--Back cover.

The centerpiece of his minjung theology is focused on the Greek word ochlos, understood as the divested, marginalized, powerless people. Part 1 introduces readers to his life and theological legacy. Part 2 includes four important writings of Ahn Byung-Mu: ""Jesus and Minjung in the Gospel of Mark,"" ""Minjung Theology in the Gospel of Mark,"" ""The Transmitters of Jesus Event Tradition,"" and ""Minjok, Minjung, and Church."" Part 3 contains a collection of articles from international scholars who evaluate and engage Ahn's ochlos/minjung theology in their own fields and formulate critical readings of minjung theology. Responses include postcolonial, black theology, and feminist perspectives. "
Book Synopsis Korean Immigrants from Latin America by : Jin Suk Bae
Download or read book Korean Immigrants from Latin America written by Jin Suk Bae and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2021-11-03 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Korean Immigrants from Latin America explores the migration and resettlement experiences of Koreans from Latin America now residing in the New York metropolitan area. It uses interview data from 102 Korean secondary migrants from Latin America to explore the religious, familial, economic, and educational dimensions of their migration and resettlement processes in the U.S. As Korean and Latino immigrants share increasingly close interactions with each other in various urban settings, these Korean remigrants can serve as links between Korean and Spanish speakers as well as liaisons among diverse groups. This book shows a surprising degree of diversity within the seemingly homogenous Korean population in the U.S. and demonstrates the unacknowledged linguistic and cultural differences among them.

Book Synopsis Haan (han, Han) of Minjung Theology and Han (han, Han) of Han Philosophy by : Chang-Hee Son
Download or read book Haan (han, Han) of Minjung Theology and Han (han, Han) of Han Philosophy written by Chang-Hee Son and published by University Press of America. This book was released on 2000 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Korean history and experience testify to the depth of human suffering, 'haan.' Those who are familiar with the 'han' from minjung theology may question the word 'haan' since the spelling, han, is more commonly known among Koreans and Westerners. Although they are two distinct concepts, haan and han, minjung theologians use the spelling 'han' indiscriminately for both and so foster a confusion, particularly for English speaking readers. This study delineates the nature of han and differentiates it from haan.
Book Synopsis Minjung Theology Today by : Jin-Kwan Kwon
Download or read book Minjung Theology Today written by Jin-Kwan Kwon and published by Evangelische Verlagsanstalt. This book was released on 2018-07-01 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many people may wonder about the current state of minjung theology that started in the 1970s in resistance to the military dictatorship in Korea. They ask: "Is minjung theology still alive?" or "Can the concept of minjung, a Korean term for poor and oppressed people, still offer a significant contribution to the reshaping of society closer to the Kingdom of God?" The essays in this volume attempt to answer such questions directly and indirectly. The authors are from Korea, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan, the Philippines, and the United States. They deal with minjung theology from their own contexts. The essays were written to commemorate the late minjung theologian Suh Nam-Dong (1918-1984) on the 30th anniversary of his passing. [Minjung-Theologie heute.
Book Synopsis The Hong Kong Protests and Political Theology by : Kwok Pui-lan

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Hong Kong protests that began in the second half of 2019 captured the world’s attention as demonstrations against an extradition bill grew into a larger civil liberties movement. While protests began as peaceful demonstrations, the disproportionate police force with which the government responded escalated the situation to an international crisis. Kwok Pui-lan and Francis Ching-wah Yip bring together an international cohort to discuss the relation between Christianity and Communism and the neoliberal economy, as well as civil disobedience, religion and social movements, and the roles of the churches in social conflict. This interdisciplinary volume showcases theological reflections by many scholars and activists in Hong Kong.
Book Synopsis Communication and Networking by : Dominik Slezak
Download or read book Communication and Networking written by Dominik Slezak and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-11-24 with total page 663 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As future generation information technology (FGIT) becomes specialized and fr- mented, it is easy to lose sight that many topics in FGIT have common threads and, because of this, advances in one discipline may be transmitted to others. Presentation of recent results obtained in different disciplines encourages this interchange for the advancement of FGIT as a whole. Of particular interest are hybrid solutions that c- bine ideas taken from multiple disciplines in order to achieve something more signi- cant than the sum of the individual parts. Through such hybrid philosophy, a new principle can be discovered, which has the propensity to propagate throughout mul- faceted disciplines. FGIT 2009 was the first mega-conference that attempted to follow the above idea of hybridization in FGIT in a form of multiple events related to particular disciplines of IT, conducted by separate scientific committees, but coordinated in order to expose the most important contributions. It included the following international conferences: Advanced Software Engineering and Its Applications (ASEA), Bio-Science and Bio-Technology (BSBT), Control and Automation (CA), Database Theory and Application (DTA), D- aster Recovery and Business Continuity (DRBC; published independently), Future G- eration Communication and Networking (FGCN) that was combined with Advanced Communication and Networking (ACN), Grid and Distributed Computing (GDC), M- timedia, Computer Graphics and Broadcasting (MulGraB), Security Technology (SecTech), Signal Processing, Image Processing and Pattern Recognition (SIP), and- and e-Service, Science and Technology (UNESST).
