Se analizan los trastornos psicomotores más frecuentes y las dificultades que éstos conllevan en relación con los aprendizajes escolares. Se explican las escalas de observación que permiten obtener información objetiva sobre el desarrollo psicomotor alcanzado por los niños en educación infantil y primaria y, así, adecuar la programación didáctica al nivel real de su desarrollo madurativo. Finalmente, se exponen unas reflexiones metodológicas generales que son necesarias para la elaboración de una propuesta de trabajo psicomotor que potencie el desarrollo socioafectivo, y se incluye un ejemplo práctico del desarrollo de una sesión psicomotriz para trabajar en el aula.
