Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Too much of humanitys history might have been lost through the great flood, which mercifully rendered humankind another chance to dwell on the Earth. This fictional account through Methuselah begins with the creation of the two Earths and follows Adam through his multiple wives torn by sons who murder each other. His remaining sons divide into tribes separated by their relationship with the creator. Nonetheless, wickedness rose in Seths tribe, while righteousness comes forth from Cains seed. Eve rewards Irad after he avenges the murder of his mother who was a favored stepdaughter of Eve. Eve rewards Irad with three of her cherished daughters. They launch a new homeland beyond the two established borders, and through their faith in the God of Adam find favor with the Ancient~One, who reestablishes his covenant with a descendant of Habil (Cain). Lilith and several of her daughters bond with Duci, one of Irads wives, exploring the wild unsettled bulk of Pangaea lands beyond the invisible border, which protects humanity from the hungry dinosaurs living in the open wilderness. Duci, with help from the Nephilim build the foundations for their two new cities and multiple temples. Irads tribe sails on secret ships to the southern hemisphere and build a Holy nation serving the Ancient~One. Enoch settles his small family on a mountaintop protected by angels as humanity falls into the final stage of wickedness. Irad and his wives end their long fruitful lives, nevertheless; they watch from heaven as the vast majority of their family chose to follow their own gods and disown the Ancient~One. Just three young men, who must sail to a distant island with their wives, remain servants of the Ancient~One. Noah builds a giant rectangle ship boarding his sons and many wild animals saving them through a large flood. Avram sails through the flood with his small group while watching death consume the lands.
Book Synopsis Methuselah's Zoo by : Steven N. Austad
Download or read book Methuselah's Zoo written by Steven N. Austad and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2023-08-15 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stories of long-lived animal species—from thousand-year-old tubeworms to 400-year-old sharks—and what they might teach us about human health and longevity. Opossums in the wild don’t make it to the age of three; our pet cats can live for a decade and a half; cicadas live for seventeen years (spending most of them underground). Whales, however, can live for two centuries and tubeworms for several millennia. Meanwhile, human life expectancy tops out around the mid-eighties, with some outliers living past 100 or even 110. Is there anything humans can learn from the exceptional longevity of some animals in the wild? In Methusaleh’s Zoo, Steven Austad tells the stories of some extraordinary animals, considering why, for example, animal species that fly live longer than earthbound species and why animals found in the ocean live longest of all. Austad—the leading authority on longevity in animals—argues that the best way we will learn from these long-lived animals is by studying them in the wild. Accordingly, he proceeds habitat by habitat, examining animals that spend most of their lives in the air, comparing insects, birds, and bats; animals that live on, and under, the ground—from mole rats to elephants; and animals that live in the sea, including quahogs, carp, and dolphins. Humans have dramatically increased their lifespan with only a limited increase in healthspan; we’re more and more prone to diseases as we grow older. By contrast, these species have successfully avoided both environmental hazards and the depredations of aging. Can we be more like them?

Book excerpt: What if our ancestors were far different than they have been depicted for several generations? What if they were of exquisite beauty and extreme intelligence, using one hundred percent of their brains? What if they traveled into space before the flood of Noah and had abilities we can only dream of. What if they had an extra sense that has been lost to mankind, and had the ability to levitate objects of ominous proportions? What if there were giants on the earth, and angels with extraordinary powers living on the earth before the flood? What would life have been like then? It was said by Jesus in Matthew 24:38-39 that they would be like the days just before His final return. Foreshadows presents a picture of what life could have been like if all these things were true, and possibly what our present day world may be facing.

Download or read book Methuselah written by Philip O. Cuddy and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2010-11 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Biography I wrote the fictional book of Methuselah with the purpose of showing why man brought the judgment of the flood upon himself. I decided to write this story after 30 years of thinking about Methuselah. When I first started to piece together what Methuselah saw, who influenced him and who he influenced I became in awe of his life. Nine out of ten names in the book of Methuselah are taken from three different books, the Bible, the Book of Jubilees and the Book of Enoch. I believe that the evil conditions found before the flood that brought the judgment of God upon the earth is manifesting itself in the world in which we live today. Judgment is coming, but God is longsuffering and has given us a way to escape the wrath to come just as he did before the great flood. Endorsements This is an amazing alternative to Harry Potter. Tom M. What an exciting movie this would make. Brad W. This is true history with added imagination. Aaron P. For anyone who believes in creation this is a must read. John T. Book Summary Find yourself seeing the world before the flood through the eyes of the oldest man that ever lived. Experience all of the patriarchs and their time slot in history. Watch how the world slips into the condition we find ourselves today. As it was in the day of Noah.
Book Synopsis Chasing Methuselah by : Todd T. W. Daly
Download or read book Chasing Methuselah written by Todd T. W. Daly and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2021-02-04 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The quest to live much longer has moved from legend to the laboratory. Recent breakthroughs in genetics and pharmacology have put humanity on the precipice of slowing down human aging to extend the healthy life span. The promise of longer, healthier life is enormously attractive, and poses several challenging questions for Christians. Who wouldn’t want to live 120 years or more before dying quickly? How do we make sense of human aging in light of Jesus’ invitation to daily take up our crosses with the promise of the resurrection to come? Is there anything wrong with manipulating our bodies technologically to live longer? If so, how long is too long? Should aging itself be treated as a disease? In Chasing Methuselah, Todd Daly examines the modern biomedical anti-aging project from a Christian perspective, drawing on the ancient wisdom of the Desert Fathers, who believed that the incarnation opened a way for human life to regain the longevity of Adam and the biblical patriarchs through prayer and fasting. Daly balances these insights with the christological anthropology of Karl Barth, discussing the implications for human finitude, fear of death, and the use of anti-aging technology, weaving a path between outright condemnation and uncritical enthusiasm.

Download or read book Methuselah's Daughter written by John Eddy and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2006 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Zsallia Marieko is a solitary immortal, very much the pagan barbarian at heart, but tempered by her centuries amongst a growing Christian influence in Western Europe. Her tale is by turns pathetic, endearing, unnerving and horrifying as the reader witnesses her climb from nameless slave to terrifying goddess, then her plunge into murderous insanity until she emerges humbled and remade- all this in just her first 1500 years. Concomitant with that tale is the modern narrative where Zsallia is forced to confront what it means to cease living outside society and join the world around her, to take up the benefits and responsibilities of living openly and asking people to simply accept who and what she is.

Download or read book Giants in the Earth written by T. B. Thornton and published by Selah Publishing Group. This book was released on 2012 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them..." Gen. 6:4 (KJV) It didn't take long after creation before Satan, in his jealousy toward the newly created humans, found a way to manipulate them into trading perfection for the death that comes through sin. But God still loved them anyway. Satan vowed to find a way to destroy them himself, so he charged one of his most devious minions, Azazel, with two tasks to reach his goal. He was to teach the humans war and corrupt the human bloodlines. This led to the birth of the Nephilim; giants who were to wreak havoc on the people of the earth. Standing in his way was Enoch, a man who "walked with God". When Azazel devises a plan to kill him, he discovers that he is up against an obstacle even larger than his giant sons; the immovable faith of Enoch and his son, Methuselah. With the help of the Creator and a few giant friends of their own, they are able to triumph over colossal evil in this action-packed adventure set during the pre-flood era of the earth.

Book Synopsis Secrets of Enoch by : Scriptural Research Institute
Download or read book Secrets of Enoch written by Scriptural Research Institute and published by Scriptural Research Institute. This book was released on 1901 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book known as Secrets of Enoch is one of the most mysterious ancient texts to survive to the present, and no two analyses of it seem to concur. Almost all copies that have survived to the present are in the Old Slavonic language, the official language once used by the Orthodox church in Slavic nations. As a result, some early scholars concluded the work was written in Old Slavonic, while others believed it was either translated from Greek or complied in Old Slavonic from a variety of ancient sources. Throughout the 1900s, a consensus developed within scholarly circles that work was likely written in a Semitic language and translated into Greek by the 9th century, and then into Old Slavonic by the 13th century. The text was quoted in the 13th century in the Merilo Pravednoe, an East Slavic collection of ethical texts. The view that the work did not originate in Old Slavonic was confirmed in 2009 when Coptic fragments were found in Egypt. As most Old Slavonic and Coptic Judaeo-Christian texts are translations of Greek texts, it is still accepted that the existing copies all derive from a Greek source. This book is also sometimes called Slavonic Enoch because until recently all known copies were written in Old Slavonic, or the 2nd Book of Enoch, which unfortunately conflicts with the other 2nd Book of Enoch, the Book of Parables which is then confusingly referred to as Enoch 2. This conflict over the name 2nd Enoch is based on the fact that Secrets of Enoch was first documented shortly after the Ethiopian Book of Enoch was discovered, and before it had been studied in any depth by scholars. At the time, it was not known that the Ethiopian Book of Enoch was composed of five separate books of Enoch, which has subsequently been confirmed by the study of the fragments of four of the books of Enoch found among the Dead Sea scrolls. The various Old Slavonic manuscripts are not the same but do appear to be derived from a common source. Many manuscripts are missing entire sections of chapters, and most are missing the final few chapters that focus on Methuselah, Nir, Melchizedek, and Noah. The collection of Old Slavonic manuscripts is generally divided into shorter and longer recensions. The various short recensions clearly share a common manuscript that served as an influence but are not simply copies of that manuscript as each has unique lines that were copied from longer recensions. The general conclusion of researchers is that the various short recensions were the works of various Orthodox Christian scholars. The longer recensions contain several Gnostic references, which implies the text may have originally been used in Slavic lands by the Bogomil Gnostic-Christians who were common in the Balkans between the 12th and 14th centuries. Nevertheless, the Gnostic sections of the text do not appear to have been written by the Slavs and were almost certainly in the Greek manuscript by the 9th century AD.
