The emphasis in this monograph is on non-trivial path integral variable change on previously obtained path integral solutions for difficult stochastic and functional equations by keeping the main objective to arrive at...another path integral which the author expects to be in a 'final' suitable form of become predictive. Note that path-integrals are mathematical objects specially tailored to the work of our modern 'slavers': computer machines.

Book excerpt: This monograph is written on topics in the subject of Continuum Quantum Geometric Path Integrals applied to Yang-Mills Theory and variants (QCD, Chern-Simons Theory, Ising Models, etc.)- the called Random Geometry in Quantum Field Theory, which are hoped to be useful to graduate students of quantum physics and applied mathematics, with a focused weight towards to those interested in applying the concepts of continuum quantum geometry in other branches of modern physics, like superconductivity, nuclear physics, polymer theory, string theory, etc. The methodology used to in this monograph is the same exposed in previous work in random classical physics: "Methods of Bosonic Path Integrals Representations- Random Systems in Classical Physics - Nova Publishers, (2006) U.S.A.': Expositions and formulas should be chewed, swallowed and digested. This process of analysis should not be abandoned until it yields a comprehension of the overall pattern of the proposed ideas and math, so after this step, one is ready to make improvements, corrections or criticisms on the path integrals representations of this book.

Book excerpt: Functional Integrals is a well-established method in mathematical physics, especially those mathematical methods used in modern non-perturbative quantum field theory and string theory. This book presents a unique, original and modern treatment of strings representations on Bosonic Quantum Chromodynamics and Bosonization theory on 2d Gauge Field Models, besides of rigorous mathematical studies on the analytical regularization scheme on Euclidean quantum field path integrals and stochastic quantum field theory. It follows an analytic approach based on Loop space techniques, functional determinant exact evaluations and exactly solubility of four dimensional QCD loop wave equations through Elfin Botelho fermionic extrinsic self avoiding string path integrals.

Book excerpt: Feynman path integrals are ubiquitous in quantum physics, even if a large part of the scientific community still considers them as a heuristic tool that lacks a sound mathematical definition. Our book aims to refute this prejudice, providing an extensive and self-contained description of the mathematical theory of Feynman path integration, from the earlier attempts to the latest developments, as well as its applications to quantum mechanics. This second edition presents a detailed discussion of the general theory of complex integration on infinite dimensional spaces, providing on one hand a unified view of the various existing approaches to the mathematical construction of Feynman path integrals and on the other hand a connection with the classical theory of stochastic processes. Moreover, new chapters containing recent applications to several dynamical systems have been added. This book bridges between the realms of stochastic analysis and the theory of Feynman path integration. It is accessible to both mathematicians and physicists.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The quantization of physical systems moving on group and symmetric spaces has been an area of active research over the past three decades. This book shows that it is possible to introduce a representation-independent propagator for a real, separable, connected and simply connected Lie group with irreducible, square-integrable representations. For a given set of kinematical variables this propagator is a single generalized function independent of any particular choice of fiducial vector and the irreducible representations of the Lie group generated by these kinematical variables, which nonetheless correctly propagates each element of a continuous representation based on the coherent states associated with these kinematical variables. Furthermore, the book shows that it is possible to construct regularized lattice phase space path integrals for a real, separable, connected and simply connected Lie group with irreducible, square-integrable representations, and although the configuration space is in general a multidimensional curved manifold, it is shown that the resulting lattice phase space path integral has the form of a lattice phase space path integral on a multidimensional flat manifold. Hence, a novel and extremely natural phase space path integral quantization is obtained for general physical systems whose kinematical variables are the generators of a connected and simply connected Lie group. This novel phase space path integral quantization is (a) exact, (b) more general than, and (c) free from the limitations of the previously considered path integral quantizations of free physical systems moving on group manifolds. To illustrate the general theory, a representation-independent propagator is explicitly constructed for SU(2) and the affine group. Book excerpt: The authors examine several topical subjects, commencing with a general introduction to path integrals in quantum mechanics and the group theoretical backgrounds for path integrals. Applications of harmonic analysis, polar coordinate formulation, various techniques and path integrals on SU(2) and SU(1, 1) are discussed. Soluble examples presented include particle-flux system, a pulsed oscillator, magnetic monopole, the Coulomb problem in curved space and others. The second part deals with the SU(2) coherent states and their applications. Construction and generalization of the SU(2) coherent states, formulation of coherent path integrals for spin and unitary spin, and semiclassical quantization are presented. Applications are made to the study of quantum fluctuation, the nonlinear field model and phase holonomy. The final chapters present the theory of the SU(1, 1) coherent states and their applications. The radial coulomb problem, the Morse oscillator, and the large-N approximation are discussed. Applications to problems in quantum optics such as squeezed states, interaction with the squeezed vacuum states, and phase operator formalism are also included. This book will be useful as an introduction to the subject as well as a valuable work of reference.

Book excerpt: This text takes advantage of recent developments in the theory of path integration and attempts to make a major paradigm shift in how the art of functional integration is practiced. The techniques developed in the work will prove valuable to graduate students and researchers in physics, chemistry, mathematical physics, and applied mathematics who find it necessary to deal with solutions to wave equations, both quantum and beyond. A Modern Approach to Functional Integration offers insight into a number of contemporary research topics, which may lead to improved methods and results that cannot be found elsewhere in the textbook literature. Exercises are included in most chapters, making the book suitable for a one-semester graduate course on functional integration.
