Die Ethiken der Umwelt und der Technik bedeuten Reflexion darüber. Eine Umweltethik geht jedoch noch weiter. Sie will auch den ganzen nichtmenschlichen Lebensraum bewahren. Von großer Bedeutung ist in diesem Zusammenhang das staatliche Handeln in den Umwelt- und Wirtschaftspolitiken. Beide sind aufeinander abzustimmen und marktorientiert auszugestalten.Die Theologie der beiden großen christlichen Kirchen weist die Menschen darauf hin, daß sie bei der Gestaltung der Umwelt Gottes Mandatare auf dieser Erde sind. Sie sollten dabei die Prinzipien der Solidarität und Subsidiarität im globalen Miteinander beachten. Eigeninitiative und Eigenverantwortung sind in diesem Zusammenhang mehr als bisher zu fördern.
