To this article of Miss Mitford's literary creed the writer of Memorials of Manchester Streets is disposed to subscribe. The series of chapters here presented was commenced in the Manchester Guardian six years ago, and has been continued at convenient intervals to a recent date. In its collective form, the book has undergone careful revision, extension, and re-arrangement, in order that itmay be found reliable for reference and interesting to peruse.
