Book excerpt: A Lost Wife A Found Messiah A World on the Brink of Damnation The Devil's minion has offered Crilen a deal: Return to a dead planet's past, save it from self-destruction, and be reunited with the loving wife who died in his arms over a decade ago. Not an impossible task for the fiery cosmic warrior who has built his life around rescuing planets from pagan religions, false gods and atheist monarchs. However, upon his arrival in the past, Crilen finds an incredibly complex world. A world tangled in a web of socio-political strife which threatens to sever the souls of its inhabitants from their faith in God and herd them into the burning pit of eternal suffering. Crilen's affections also become fixated upon Panla Jen, a devoutly religious leader, who seeks to reform her planet's faith by destroying the secular institution which has imprisoned the Word of God with ungodly man-made laws, rituals and ideals. An immoral government which enables the vices of the majority, an amoral news and entertainment media lusting for optimum profits and a violent underground atheist insurrection conspire to shepherd the masses into a spiritual death-spiral fueled by their own lusts for freedom as an end rather than a means. What must Crilen sacrifice to rescue this world and elude the Devil's bidding?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Museums and Social Activism is the first study to bring together historical accounts of the African American and later American Indian civil rights-related social and reform movements that took place on the Smithsonian Mall through the 1960s and 1970s in Washington DC with the significant but unknown story about museological transformation and curatorial activism that occurred in the Division of Political and Reform History at the National Museum of American History at this time. Based on interdisciplinary field-based research that has brought together cross-cultural and international perspectives from the fields of Museum Studies, Public History, Political Science and Social Movement Studies with empirical investigation, the book explores and analyses museums’ – specifically, curators’ – relationships with political stakeholders past and present. By understanding the transformations of an earlier period, Museums and Social Activism offers provocative perspectives on the cultural and political significance of contemporary museums. It highlights the relevance of past practice and events for museums today and improved ways of understanding the challenges and opportunities that result from the ongoing process of renewal that museums continue to exemplify.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Born and raised in Houston, Texas, in the 1950s, I was raised during a time of political and racial unrest in America. However, I never witnessed a firsthand account of racism. I was exposed to the civil unrest in America, the unveiling of a truly dedicated, amazing, and remarkable man, Reverend Martin L. King Jr. (who in my opinion was the greatest black man in my lifetime). Also I believe that since the untimely death of Reverend King, the black community had never had a leader of relevance (my opinion). Silence But Determined tells a compelling true life story describing horrific life-changing events. The manner in which justice was utilized in my experience is reflective in comparison with modern-day slavery. A systematic doctrine of racism that I am led to believe that it does not really exist. The compelling doctrine that most people have come to believe in and live by has manifested grave injustice to people of color. I myself (not the victim) attempt to uncover the hidden truth about America's judicial system. Right out of the proverbial story needle in a haystack, when the question "who's to blame?" arises from the supporters and naysayers alike, how can I give a definitive answer? Well I'm determined to accomplish the feat of uncovering the needle in the haystack and give my answer to the question "who is to blame?" We tend to view life from a smaller vision looking through a smaller glass. So what must be done to give everyone a view from the same size of the glass? Reconstruct the criminal justice system in America (specifically in Houston, Texas) from top to bottom. A very unfortunate turn of events that definitely had a negative impact on a generation of black people's lives. I speak of how the system chewed me up and spit me out. Literally! For twenty-three years and three hundred and fifty-three days, I truly was enslaved in the criminal justice (not really) system. However, I instinctively rose from what many would have called being dead. I want to give tribute to God almighty! Truly God has brought me along to give this testimonial of how strong faith and belief can overcome any obstacle. God truly has the last word!
