Book excerpt: Meeting Shiva is a spiritual memoir. Tiziana, a single woman in her mid-thirties, is at the end of an adventurous overland trip through the Himalayas, which she embarked on to search for her tantric soul mate. When the soul mate hasn’t materialized after eight months of wandering through Tibet, Nepal, Pakistan and India, she decides to go home. Before her departure, she sets out on a final mountain trip. It is here that she meets Rudra, the man she has been waiting for all her life. But there is a catch: Rudra is a sannyasi, a celibate Hindu monk who lives in an austere ashram in the remote Himalayas. The two get drawn into an intense, romantic relationship that soon spirals out of control as Tiziana is drawn into a past long forgotten that ultimately leads her through pain and misery to healing and transformation. ,
Book Synopsis Face to Face with Shiva by : Dr. Abhinav Aggarwal
Download or read book Face to Face with Shiva written by Dr. Abhinav Aggarwal and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2016-10-21 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Face to Face with Shiva - scientific perspective of a spiritual experience: A real life account of being face to face with Lord Shiva: the highest among all known beings. An event that took place in 1970, is given in as-is form. It was among rarest of the rare experiences. Ever since then, the continuous dialog with Lord Shiva has been unfolding, and has provided revelation to the mysteries of life and defining its very purpose. In the dilemma of being a scientist who must find a scientific explanation to every phenomenon, I had refrained from publicly sharing this unique experience. Over forty five years of an ongoing dialog with Lord Shiva has yielded a scientific hypothesis to this rare happening, and time has now come to share this experience for larger benefit of humanity. In this brief presentation, the hypothesis and experience are shared alike. Bridging the gap between science and spirituality, physical and metaphysical, un-manifested and visible existence, abstract and defined, Lord Shiva answers the most unanswered questions like: Is there God? If so, who is that? Who made God? What is the purpose of Life? Who are we? What can one do as an individual to make a difference in this world? Why do tragedies happen? Why do living beings have desires? How do we participate in the universal divine plan? What happens after death? Are we the only living beings and is there life elsewhere in this inter-galactic universe? Are we being observed? Am I empowered to change the universe? What is the end-all of existence? What is our responsibility in this life? How is the universe managed? Who controls the universe? What lies beyond edge of the universe? Atheists, believers, and scientists can all benefit by drawing insight to the reality of all that is and discover the truth beyond science and religion. Brought to you by IEEE Author of the Year.

Book Synopsis Shiva's Own Story by : K. Chandra Sekhar
Download or read book Shiva's Own Story written by K. Chandra Sekhar and published by Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency. This book was released on 2011 with total page 803 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 'Brihakatha', or Lord Shiva's narrative to his wife Parvati, is featured in Gunadhya's epic composition 'Katha Sarita Sagara' in Sanskrit. Somadeva's adaptation retains the storyline, with Lord Shiva substituting for Lord Kubera, the God of Wealth. C H Tawney, blending pure Hindu mythology with Buddhist and tantric beliefs, translated the story into English as The Ocean of a Story, which runs 12 volumes and includes footnotes. Shiva's Own Story is a condensed version of Tawney's work. The setting of the stories is India in the 10th and 11th centuries, when the country was composed of many small kingdoms and fiefdoms. There was no dearth of monarchs with dynastic ambitions. The king was usually advised by an intelligent and devoted Brahman minister. The heir apparent, the crown prince, had a circle of friends, mostly sons of the king's ministers, who became part of the cabinet when the prince became king. Intrigue was rife and matrimonial alliances were often a strategy to expand the kingdom. In a country where illiteracy is still formidable, storytelling is a means of promoting and propagating religious and moral culture.
