Book Synopsis Room Temperature Tensile Properties of Large 7075-T6 and 7075-T73 Aluminum-alloy Forgings by : D. P. Moon
Download or read book Room Temperature Tensile Properties of Large 7075-T6 and 7075-T73 Aluminum-alloy Forgings written by D. P. Moon and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Room-temperature tensile properties were determined for large 7075-T6 and 7075-T73 aluminum-alloy forgings. Forging sizes ranged from about 1.5 to 15 inches (short-transverse direction) for production forgings and up to 20 inches for step forgings. Heat-treated thickness was 0.75 to 1.000 inch for the T6 temper but ranged up to 10 inches for the T73 temper. Regression coefficients and standard d deviations are presented for three properties (TUS, TYS, and elongation) in each of three test directions. In addition, average values and two statistical minima are tabulated for each property and test direction at each of several discrete sizes, and a comparison is made with the corresponding requirements of Specification MIL-A-22771C(ASG). Book Synopsis Bringing Thermoelectricity into Reality by : Patricia Aranguren
Download or read book Bringing Thermoelectricity into Reality written by Patricia Aranguren and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2018-07-11 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The disproportionate use of fossil fuels has turned into a serious environmental issue. Thus, we are encountering one of the biggest challenges of the twenty-first century, satisfying the energy demand with respect to the environment. Thermoelectricity is an emerging technology, which contributes to reducing the impact of the use of traditional technologies, harvesting the waste heat, and eliminating the use of refrigerants. The book Bringing Thermoelectricity into Reality covers the current thermoelectric investigations: the study of novel thermoelectric materials, the development of computational models, the design of proper assemblies, and the optimization of thermal designs, as well as novel thermoelectric generators, coolers, and heating applications. This book looks for the definitive thermoelectric applications applied to everyday life.

Book Synopsis Hot Stamping Advanced Manufacturing Technology of Lightweight Car Body by : Ping Hu
Download or read book Hot Stamping Advanced Manufacturing Technology of Lightweight Car Body written by Ping Hu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-10-14 with total page 327 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book summarizes the advanced manufacturing technology of original innovations in hot stamping of lightweight car body. A detailed description of the technical system and basic knowledge of sheet metal forming is given, which helps readers quickly understand the relevant knowledge in the field. Emphasis has been placed on the independently developed hot stamping process and equipment, which help describe the theoretical and experimental research on key problems involving stress field, thermal field and phase transformation field in hot stamping process. Also, a description of the formability at elevated temperature and the numerical simulation algorithms for high strength steel hot stamping is given in combination with the experiments. Finally, the book presents some application cases of hot stamping technology such as the lightweight car body design using hot stamping components and gradient hardness components, and the cooling design of the stamping tool. This book is intended for researchers, engineers and graduate students in vehicle engineering, mechanical engineering, especially in the field of advanced manufacturing technology. The book also provides a useful reference for other new technology related temperature and phase transformation, such as aluminum-magnesium alloy hot stamping.

Book Synopsis Handbook of Alkali-Activated Cements, Mortars and Concretes by : F. Pacheco-Torgal
Download or read book Handbook of Alkali-Activated Cements, Mortars and Concretes written by F. Pacheco-Torgal and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-11-20 with total page 855 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides an updated state-of-the-art review on new developments in alkali-activation. The main binder of concrete, Portland cement, represents almost 80% of the total CO2 emissions of concrete which are about 6 to 7% of the Planet’s total CO2 emissions. This is particularly serious in the current context of climate change and it could get even worse because the demand for Portland cement is expected to increase by almost 200% by 2050 from 2010 levels, reaching 6000 million tons/year. Alkali-activated binders represent an alternative to Portland cement having higher durability and a lower CO2 footprint. Reviews the chemistry, mix design, manufacture and properties of alkali-activated cement-based concrete binders Considers performance in adverse environmental conditions. Offers equal emphasis on the science behind the technology and its use in civil engineering.
