He lived for several years in New York. He married Jane Wisel (1850-1941), who was born in Viroqua, Wisconsin to Ira Wisel and Orlinda Stiles, 1867. This couple lived in Bazaar, Chase Co., Kansas. Their son, James Bernard McCabe (1882-1955) married Mildred LaVern Heathman (1890- 1967) in Kansas City, Kansas, 1905. Includes some ancestors of Mildred LaVern Heathman.
