The authors argue that every company or institution must manage four main processes: strategic positioning, market intelligence, value creation and value generation. Adopting a global approach, the book focuses on value creation and introduces students to the tools of the marketing mix in a process oriented manner. New to this edition: - New coverage of technology applications and developments and B2B marketing - Consistent focus on value creation throughout - More examples to illustrate theory - Enhanced pedagogy including long case studies and exercises in every chapter With its unique approach and international coverage, this book is essential reading for advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students of Marketing Management and will also appeal to MBA and other post-experience students.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The anothe time dominates immediate purchase behavior case is that I assume that one common picture painter( actor), he finds one architect to help him to build one house. The architect only needs to folloe his house picture to build one house. The common picture painter tells him that he will give him building expenditure and building profit after he helps him to build the house profit after he helps him to build the house successfully. After six months, the architect made one decision, he did not demand the famous picture painter paid him for the building service fee. But, he needed him give the house picture to him to replace the building service fee. Because the picture painter feels that he didn't need to pay the building service fee to him to buy the architect's building service in these six months building time. Hence, he accepted his offer to give his common house picture to the architect for his reward. I assume that this six months time dominate the architect to make the final building service fee decision either acceptance the common picture painter customer's building service fee or acceptance his common house picture replaces the building service fee. However, the architect believes that this common house picture can have higher selling price to compare his building service fee income. Consequently, I assume that his evaluation is right, this house picture selling price is more than three times to compare his past six months's building service income. So, it proved that his choice is right, because he could earn more than three times of his building service income after he decided to accept the common picture painter's this house picture to attempt to sell it in the picture auction market. It seems that this six months long house building time can dominate these both buyer and seller's purchase and selling behaviors, such as this picture painter and this architect. When the architect has this six months enough time to let the picture painter to change his building service offer decision from building service fee payment to his common house picture offer exchange. This architect can achieve his intention to let him to accept his free house picture sold product exchange offer more easily. Otherwise, if the architect can not need six months to build this house, he only needs three months or less time to build this house, then it is possible that the picture painter won't accept his this house picture offer to replace his building service fee easily. If he considers that whether his this house picture's selling price has possible to sell higher price to compare this building service fee for this house picture. He will choose to sell this house picture himself. Hence, due to the picture painter can not sell this house picture in this past six months. So, in this six months period, the house painter can not sell this house picture in picture auction market. This six months period can dominate his low market worth selling feeling to this house picture as well as it can influence him to make this house picture exchange decision to replace his house service fee.

Book excerpt: In today's socially networked and highly competitive world, it is imperative that marketers are always truthful because customers eventually find out if they have been misled. This can lead to their angst with the company going viral, thereby destroying the company's reputation. Marketing Management advocates 'marketing based on absolute truth'. Also brand image is sensitive to market sentiments. Brands can be in danger: one wrong product or one shoddy campaign can destroy a brand built over years. Companies must align everything that they do with the core spirit of their brands. Further, when everything seems to go digital, it is important that marketers keep in mind that customers are primarily interested in their products/services. The book advocates that superior products and services will always be central to marketing. Book Synopsis The Service-Dominant Logic of Marketing by : Robert F. Lusch
Download or read book The Service-Dominant Logic of Marketing written by Robert F. Lusch and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-12-18 with total page 676 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Expanding on the editors' award-winning article "Evolving to a New Dominant Logic for Marketing," this book presents a challenging new paradigm for the marketing discipline. This new paradigm is service-oriented, customer-oriented, relationship-focused, and knowledge-based, and places marketing, once viewed as a support function, central to overall business strategy. Service-dominant logic defines service as the application of competencies for the benefit of another entity and sees mutual service provision, rather than the exchange of goods, as the proper subject of marketing. It moves the orientation of marketing from a "market to" philosophy where customers are promoted to, targeted, and captured, to a "market with" philosophy where the customer and supply chain partners are collaborators in the entire marketing process. The editors elaborate on this model through an historical analysis, clarification, and extension of service-dominant logic, and distinguished marketing thinkers then provide further insight and commentary. The result is a more comprehensive and inclusive marketing theory that will challenge both current thinking and marketing practice.

Book Synopsis The Concept of Abuse in EU Competition Law by : Pinar Akman
Download or read book The Concept of Abuse in EU Competition Law written by Pinar Akman and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2012-02-03 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objective(s) of Article 102 TFEU, what exactly makes a practice abusive and the standard of harm under Article 102 TFEU have not yet been settled. This lack of clarity creates uncertainty for businesses and, coupled with the current state of economics in this area, raises an important question of legitimacy. Using law and economic approaches, this book inquires into the possible objectives of Article 102 TFEU and proposes a modern approach to interpreting 'abuse'. In doing so, this book establishes an overarching concept of 'abuse' that conforms to the historical roots of the provision, to the text of the provision itself, and to modern economic thinking on unilateral conduct. This book therefore inquires into what Article 102 TFEU is about, what it can be about and what it should be about regarding both objectives and scope. The book demonstrates that the separation of exploitative abuse from exclusionary abuse is artificial and unsound. It examines the roots of Article 102 TFEU and the historical context of the adoption of the Treaty, the case law, policy and literature on exploitative abuses and, where relevant, on exclusionary abuses. The book investigates potential objectives, such as fairness and welfare, as well as the potential conflict between such objectives. Finally, it critically assesses the European Commission's modernisation of Article 102 TFEU, before proposing a reformed approach to 'abuse' which is centred on three necessary and sufficient conditions: exploitation, exclusion and a lack of an increase in efficiency.

Book Synopsis Consuming mobility by : Jorrit O. Nijhuis
Download or read book Consuming mobility written by Jorrit O. Nijhuis and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2023-09-04 with total page 259 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The current fossil fuel-based system of mobility is associated with a wide range of environmental and social problems. There is a growing body of literature on system innovations and transitions which has as a common understanding that long-term transformative change is necessary to deal with these complex problems. However, knowledge on the crucial role of citizen-consumers in sustainable mobility transitions is still underdeveloped. By incorporating the viewpoint of consumption patterns and everyday life routines, this book provides (new) knowledge on the role of citizen-consumers in sustainable mobility transitions. Theoretically, a practice based approach is developed as a novel framework to analyse, understand and influence transition processes to sustainable mobility at the level of everyday life. The focus in each of the three cases studies is on situated interactions between consumers and producers. Amongst these is an analysis of the role environmental information and subsidies in new car purchasing. Also, various examples in which an attempt was made to orchestrate a (modal) shift in commuting practices are examined. Each of the empirical case studies shows the important role of contextual factors in understanding and influencing mobility behaviour of citizen-consumers. In addition, this book helps to understand how and why innovation in mobility practices takes place or not.
