Durch den demografischen Wandel und den damit verbundenen Fachkräftemangel ist es für Unternehmen von zunehmender Bedeutung nicht nur neue Mitarbeiter/-innen zu rekrutieren, sondern insbesondere die bestehenden Mitarbeiter/-innen an das Unternehmen zu binden. Weiterhin kommt es durch den Wandel des Arbeitsmarktes von einem Arbeitgeber- zu einem Arbeitnehmermarkt1 zu unbesetzten Stellen. Dadurch ist es für Unternehmen bedeutsam, ein attraktiver Arbeitgeber mit zufriedenen und langjährigen Mitarbeitenden zu sein. Der Einsatz von geeigneten Maßnahmen zur Mitarbeiterbindung bietet hier die Chance diese Ziele zu erreichen. Laut dem Engagement Index war die Bereitschaft der deutschen Arbeitnehmer/-innen, den Job zu wechseln, noch nie so hoch wie im Jahr 2021. Jeder Vierte möchte in einem Jahr zu einem anderen Arbeitgeber wechseln.2 Umso relevanter ist es für Unternehmen, Maßnahmen zur Bindung der Mitarbeitenden zu entwickeln. Zusätzlich gibt es durch die Veränderung der Altersstruktur der Bevölkerung in Unternehmen einen zunehmend höheren Anteil an älteren Mitarbeitenden. Es muss sich hier demnach die Frage gestellt werden, wie man auch der älteren Belegschaft Anreize bieten kann, die Arbeitszufriedenheit und Bindung gegenüber dem Arbeitgeber zu erhalten.
