Download or read book La Voix De La Misericorde written by Joseph Bonnaig and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-06-13 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book Synopsis The Virgin Mary, Mediatrix of All Graces by : Gloria Falcão Dodd
Download or read book The Virgin Mary, Mediatrix of All Graces written by Gloria Falcão Dodd and published by Academy of the Immaculate. This book was released on 2012 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Mariology of the 20th century got a decisive stimulus by the movement for the dogmatic definition of Mary’s social function as “Mediatrix of all Graces.” Gloria Falcão Dodd gives a synthetic, historical overview of the development from 1896 until the proclamation of the Marian chapter of “Lumen gentium” in 1964. She also analyzes the theological arguments for and against the dogmatic definition. Her very useful work is indispensable for anyone who wants to receive the most recent basic information about the most disputed topic of modern Mariology. - Rev. Dr. Manfred Hauke

Download or read book Mary at the Foot of the Cross - VIII written by and published by Academy of the Immaculate. This book was released on 2008 with total page 519 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coredemption as Key to a Correct Understanding of Redemption Originally presented as Acts of the Marian Symposium in Fatima, Portugal in the year 2007, addresses central Christological issues bearing on the meaning and consequences of the Redemption, those arising from an incorrect or total lack of understanding of the mystery of Marian coredemption. Such aberrations as patripassianism, liberation theology, Kantian transcendentalism substituted for scholastic metaphysics, soteriological substitutionism and the Protestant solus, reflect a deeply rooted Marian minimalism and rejection of Mary’s prerogative as Coredemptrix.

Book Synopsis Salvation in Henri de Lubac by : Eugene R. Schlesinger
Download or read book Salvation in Henri de Lubac written by Eugene R. Schlesinger and published by University of Notre Dame Pess. This book was released on 2023-07-15 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study provides a compelling account of the major works of Henri de Lubac, one of the most influential theologians of the twentieth century, and argues that soteriology provides a lens through which their inner unity can be discerned. The writings of Henri de Lubac have left an indelible mark on Catholic theology, preparing the ground for, giving shape to, and explaining the seminal event of twentieth-century Catholicism: the Second Vatican Council. Like the Council itself, though, de Lubac remains a contested figure, difficult to classify. Salvation in Henri de Lubac presents an overview of de Lubac’s major works in light of his own statements that a mystical vision animated them all. De Lubac’s mystical theology hinges upon a vision of salvation, understood as humanity’s incorporation into the triune God through the cross and resurrection of the incarnate Christ. From his writings on the supernatural and theological epistemology, to his treatments of the spiritual interpretation of Scripture, ecclesiology, sacramental theology, and the theology of history, the mystery of the cross looms large, gathering these disparate topics into one focal center while also allowing their distinct contours to remain. By attending to de Lubac’s work in this light, Eugene R. Schlesinger brings important themes from French language scholarship into the English-speaking conversation and clarifies the nature of de Lubac’s ressourcement. It is not a method, nor a sensibility, but the outgrowth of a conviction: in the mystery of Christ a definitive and unsurpassable gift has been given, one that constitutes the meaning of the world and its history, one whose riches can never be exhausted. Schlesinger claims that unless we understand de Lubac and his work in light of his own motivations and emphases, we risk distorting his contribution, reducing him to a proxy in the struggle for post-conciliar Catholic self-definition.
Book Synopsis Fifteenth-Century Studies Vol. 29 by : Edelgard E. DuBruck

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New essays on topics from love and sexuality to physical handicaps, old age, good and bad fortune, women's virtues, art and literature, and the writing of manuscripts. Fifteenth-Century Studies has appeared annually since 1977. It publishes essays on all aspects of life in the 15th century, including literature, drama, history, philosophy, art, music, religion, science, and ritual and custom. The editors strive to do justice to the most contested medieval century, a period that defies consensus on fundamental issues. In this volume the standard synopsis of research on 15th-c. theater is followed by essays on reflection/meditation on love and sexuality, physical handicaps, old age, betrayal, and false accusations. Contributors investigate good and bad fortune and human reactions to it, as well as women's virtues. Essays deal with poetry, prose, and drama, while others explore art, looking at illuminations, fresco, and tapestry from the vantage point of hagiography and romance. Finally, there is an essay on scribes, codices, and manuscripts from the perspective of New Philology. Contributors: E. DuBruck, C. Azuela, D.E. Booton, L.V. Gerulaitis, R. Hyatte, S. Jefferis, V. Minet-Mahy, C. Politis, M.J. Seaman, E. I. Wade. Edelgard E. DuBruck is professor emerita in the Modern Languages Department at Marygrove College, and Barbara I. Gusick is professor emerita of English at Troy University-Dothan, Dothan, Alabama.
Book Synopsis Éasme: Sa penséet son comportement by : Léon–E. Halkin
Download or read book Éasme: Sa penséet son comportement written by Léon–E. Halkin and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-10-28 with total page 467 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume of Professor Halkin's articles forms a complement to his recent biography of Erasmus of Rotterdam. The articles published here are concerned with his activities and his behaviour, and describe parts of what may be called his spiritual and intellectual itinerary, different aspects of his thought, or different chapters of his life. The personality of Erasmus continues to make a striking impact upon those who read him, but that it is hard to define it clearly or simply may be seen from the variety of differing judgements scholars have made. The last of the great Latin writers, the author of more than a hundred works, he strove hard to disseminate his ideas: with his books he expounded the theories of Christian humanism; in his treatises and letters he incessantly preached peace; right to the end of his life he worked for the reform of the Church. These themes recur in these articles, but, in Professor Halkin's view, it is his faith, his militant and uncompromising Christianity which gives his character its unity.
