Book Synopsis Maple V: Mathematics and its Applications by : Robert J. Lopez
Download or read book Maple V: Mathematics and its Applications written by Robert J. Lopez and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Maple Summer Workshop and Symposium, MSWS '94, reflects the growing commu nity of Maple users around the world. This volume contains the contributed papers. A careful inspection of author affiliations will reveal that they come from North America, Europe, and Australia. In fact, fifteen come from the United States, two from Canada, one from Australia, and nine come from Europe. Of European papers, two are from Ger many, two are from the Netherlands, two are from Spain, and one each is from Switzerland, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. More important than the geographical diversity is the intellectual range of the contributions. We begin to see in this collection of works papers in which Maple is used in an increasingly flexible way. For example, there is an application in computer science that uses Maple as a tool to create a new utility. There is an application in abstract algebra where Maple has been used to create new functionalities for computing in a rational function field. There are applications to geometrical optics, digital signal processing, and experimental design.

Book Synopsis Quantum Mechanics Using Maple ® by : Marko Horbatsch
Download or read book Quantum Mechanics Using Maple ® written by Marko Horbatsch and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quantum Mechanics Using Maple permits the study of quantum mechanics in a novel, interactive way using the computer algebra and graphics system Maple V. Usually the physics student is distracted from understanding the concepts of modern physics by the need to master unfamiliar mathematics at the same time. In 39 guided Maple sessions the reader explores many standard quantum mechanics problems, as well as some advanced topics that introduce approximation techniques. A solid knowledge of Maple V is acquired as it applies to advanced mathematics relevant for engineering, physics, and applied mathematics. The diskette contains 39 Maple V for Windows worksheet files to reproduce all the problems presented in the text. The suggested exercises can be performed with a minimum of typing.
Book Synopsis Differential Equations with Maple V® by : Martha L Abell
Download or read book Differential Equations with Maple V® written by Martha L Abell and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2014-05-09 with total page 703 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Differential Equations with Maple V provides an introduction and discussion of topics typically covered in an undergraduate course in ordinary differential equations as well as some supplementary topics such as Laplace transforms, Fourier series, and partial differential equations. It also illustrates how Maple V is used to enhance the study of differential equations not only by eliminating the computational difficulties, but also by overcoming the visual limitations associated with the solutions of differential equations. The book contains chapters that present differential equations and illustrate how Maple V can be used to solve some typical problems. The text covers topics on differential equations such as first-order ordinary differential equations, higher order differential equations, power series solutions of ordinary differential equations, the Laplace Transform, systems of ordinary differential equations, and Fourier Series and applications to partial differential equations. Applications of these topics are also provided. Engineers, computer scientists, physical scientists, mathematicians, business professionals, and students will find the book useful.
Book Synopsis The Maple V Primer, Release 4 by : Frank Garvan
Download or read book The Maple V Primer, Release 4 written by Frank Garvan and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-02-27 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Learn how to use the modern techniques offered by Maple V, a powerful and popular computer algebra system. The Maple V Primer: Release 4 covers all the basic topics a reader needs to know to use Maple V in its major revision encompassed in Release 4 to do algebra and calculus, solve equations, graph 2- and 3-dimensional plots, perform simple programming tasks, and prepare mathematical documents. Every common command and function is supported by a specific example, so you won't waste time struggling with the syntax. Graphs, plots, and other Maple output are provided along with the syntax, so the user knows what to expect when she or he uses a particular command. And all the examples come with a short discussion, answering questions you might have about applying the example to your own work. This is a painless - even fun - way to learn how to use Maple V.

Book Synopsis Essential Maple 7 by : Robert M. Corless
Download or read book Essential Maple 7 written by Robert M. Corless and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2002-03-28 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides an accelerated introduction to Maple for scientific programmers who already have experience in other computer languages (such as C, Pascal, or FORTRAN). It gives an overview of the most commonly used constructs and an elementary introduction to Maple programming. The new edition is substantially updated throughout. In particular, there are new programming features especially modules, nested lexical scopes, documentation features, and object-oriented support), a new solution of differential equations, and new plotting features. Review of Earlier Edition "It is especially nice for people like us, who have done some C and FORTRAN programming in our time, but would like to take better advantage of a tool like Maple. It discusses things of key importance to a scientific programmer and does not go on and on with things you'd never use anyway. The examples are terrific--beyond description. I have informed my colleagues here that this is a must-have..." (Brynjulf Owren, Department of Mathematical Sciences, The Norwegian Institute of Technology)

Book Synopsis Discovering Curves and Surfaces with Maple® by : Maciej Klimek
Download or read book Discovering Curves and Surfaces with Maple® written by Maciej Klimek and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the fact that Maple is one of the most popular computer algebra systems on the market, surprisingly few users realise its potential for scientific visualisation. This book equips readers with the graphics tools needed on the voyage into the complex and beautiful world of curves and surfaces. A comprehensive treatment of Maples graphics commands and structures is combined with an introduction to the main aspects of visual perception, with priority given to the use of light, colour, perspective, and geometric transformations. Numerous examples cover all aspects of Maple graphics, and these may be easily tailored to the individual needs of the reader. The approach is context-independent, and as such will appeal to students, educators, and researchers in a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines. For the general user at any level of experience, this book will serve as a comprehensive reference manual. For the beginner, it offers a user-friendly introduction to the subject, with mathematical requirements kept to a minimum, while, for those interested in advanced mathematical visualisation, it explains how to maximise Maples graphical capabilities.
