Le chapitre 8 passe en revue de façon exhaustive les sonopathologies présentes parfois afin d'aider à mieux distinguer ce qui est normal de ce qui ne l'est pas. Enfin, le chapitre 9 revoit l'ensemble des technologies que nous propose dès aujourd'hui l'échographie. La seconde partie de l'ouvrage est consacrée à la description la plus complète et la plus graphique des techniques d'anesthésie loco-régionale de la tête au pied (chapitres 10 à 15), des techniques concernant le traitement interventionnel de la douleur chronique (chapitre 16) et enfin des différentes approches d'insertion d'accès vasculaires artériels ou veineux (chapitre 17). Au total, 109 techniques et approches nerveuses ou péri-nerveuses (périphériques et centrales), ostéo-articulaires, ou encore vasculaires sont présentées de la même façon. Un texte court campe le décor en donnant les informations à ne pas négliger. La barre graphique en dix-huit logos vous permet une revue globale et rapide de la technique sous ses différents aspects. Toutes les informations sur la façon d'installer au mieux votre patient, de disposer la sonde d'échographie, d'insérer l'aiguille et de réaliser le geste sont résumées en deux images. Ces dernières sont complétées par les mêmes images commentées de façon graphique en se basant sur le code couleur anatomique international en y incluant les différents arguments échographiques que vous devez observer pour juger de l'adéquation de votre coupe échographique mais aussi les différentes incidences d'insertion de l'aiguille dans le plan et hors le plan. Enfin des " bons " et " mauvais amis " ainsi que des " trucs et astuces " viennent pondérer le tout afin de vous rendre tout ceci encore plus concret et plus compréhensible. Riche d'informations, cet ouvrage se veut pratique. Il voudrait tendre à répondre à la majorité des questions qui se posent dans la pratique quotidienne.

Book excerpt: In this paper, the authors study the direct and inverse scattering theory at fixed energy for massless charged Dirac fields evolving in the exterior region of a Kerr-Newman-de Sitter black hole. In the first part, they establish the existence and asymptotic completeness of time-dependent wave operators associated to our Dirac fields. This leads to the definition of the time-dependent scattering operator that encodes the far-field behavior (with respect to a stationary observer) in the asymptotic regions of the black hole: the event and cosmological horizons. The authors also use the miraculous property (quoting Chandrasekhar)—that the Dirac equation can be separated into radial and angular ordinary differential equations—to make the link between the time-dependent scattering operator and its stationary counterpart. This leads to a nice expression of the scattering matrix at fixed energy in terms of stationary solutions of the system of separated equations. In a second part, the authors use this expression of the scattering matrix to study the uniqueness property in the associated inverse scattering problem at fixed energy. Using essentially the particular form of the angular equation (that can be solved explicitly by Frobenius method) and the Complex Angular Momentum technique on the radial equation, the authors are finally able to determine uniquely the metric of the black hole from the knowledge of the scattering matrix at a fixed energy.

Book excerpt: The authors prove a polynomial multiple recurrence theorem for finitely many commuting measure preserving transformations of a probability space, extending a polynomial Szemerédi theorem appearing in [BL1]. The linear case is a consequence of an ergodic IP-Szemerédi theorem of Furstenberg and Katznelson ([FK2]). Several applications to the fine structure of recurrence in ergodic theory are given, some of which involve weakly mixing systems, for which we also prove a multiparameter weakly mixing polynomial ergodic theorem. The techniques and apparatus employed include a polynomialization of an IP structure theory developed in [FK2], an extension of Hindman's theorem due to Milliken and Taylor ([M], [T]), a polynomial version of the Hales-Jewett coloring theorem ([BL2]), and a theorem concerning limits of polynomially generated IP-systems of unitary operators ([BFM]).
