This book was released on 1994 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mapping in the Manson Creek-Germansen Landing area was undertaken to provide a detailed geological database for a belt of rocks long known to host lode gold and base metal occurrences. The project produced 1:50,000-scale geological maps for all or part of map sheets 93N/9, 93N/10, 93N/15, and 94C/2; revised the mineral inventory database; placed known mineral occurrences within a geological framework; and augmented existing coverage or initiated new surveys in areas lacking previous coverage. The report describes the geographic setting and framework and exploration history; lithologic units; structure; metamorphism; economic geology; and geological synthesis.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Report 5 contains papers from most regions of Canada, but particularly from British Columbia. The Geochronology Laboratory has, over the years, provided substantial U-Pb dating for the Cordilleran Division of the Geological Survey of Canada in Vancouver, and the results of a number of these studies are presented this year. Many of the Cordilleran dating projects were begun more than four years ago, and we are pleased to be able to bring many of these to a conclusion with this volume." --

This book was released on 1993 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Midway-Cassiar project area covers approximately 3,000 sq km in the Cassiar Mountains of northern British Columbia, between the Dease River and the Yukon border near Rancheria. This study began in 1986 as one of several regional mapping projects to produce detailed geological maps of the area. This report describes the history of exploration and mining in the area and previous geological work; general geology; structural geology and metamorphism; and economic geology.
Book Synopsis Geology of the Forrest Kerr-Mess Creek Area, Northwestern British Columbia (NTS 104B/10, 15 & 104G/2 & 7W) by : James Metcalfe Logan
Download or read book Geology of the Forrest Kerr-Mess Creek Area, Northwestern British Columbia (NTS 104B/10, 15 & 104G/2 & 7W) written by James Metcalfe Logan and published by Government of British Columbia. This book was released on 2000 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Forrest Kerr-Mess Creek map area straddles the intermontane & coast belt boundary in north-west British Columbia. This report presents results of geological investigations undertaken to produce detailed maps & a database to better understand the geological setting of the area's mineral deposits and to aid in making new mineral discoveries. The introduction includes information on previous geological work in the area and on the regional geology. Chapter 2 describes the stratigraphy of the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and later formations. Chapter 3 covers the area's intrusive rocks, including plutonic suites, dikes, and other intrusions. Chapter 4 discusses geologic structure, including deformational history and faults. The final chapter examines the area's economic geology and includes descriptions of mineral occurrences of four types: porphyry, skarn, sub-volcanic vein, and stratiform.

Download or read book Carbonatites, Nepheline Syenites, Kimberlites and Related Rocks in British Columbia written by British Columbia. Geological Survey Branch and published by Province of British Columbia, Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources. This book was released on 1994 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study documents alkaline rock occurrences in British Columbia; describes their petrography, geochemistry, economic geology, and field relationships; and determines the timing and tectonic controls of emplacement, providing a basis for future, detailed studies. Work was begun in 1984 and included field mapping during the summers of 1984, 1985, and 1986. All the carbonatite-syenite localities (with the exception of the Wicheeda Lake and Mount Bisson showings) and a large number of the diatreme breccias were mapped and sampled.

Book Synopsis Drift Exploration in the Canadian Cordillera by : Peter T. Bobrowsky
Download or read book Drift Exploration in the Canadian Cordillera written by Peter T. Bobrowsky and published by Province of British Columbia, Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources. This book was released on 1995 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the frequency of near-surface mineral discoveries in the British Columbia Cordillera diminishes, exploration is more frequently focused on regions of high potential but mantled by unconsolidated sediments or drift, dominated by Quaternary deposits. This volume is a compilation of papers on various aspects of drift exploration, using examples from British Columbia. Topics of the papers include Quaternary geology, recognition of paleo-flow direction, drift potential mapping, drilling methods, glacial dispersal determination using indicator clasts, till geochemistry, biogeochemical sampling, lake sedimentology, laboratory techniques, shallow seismic methods, borehole analysis, and resistivity mapping. Case studies elaborating on drift exploration concepts are dispersed throughout the compilation.
