Book Synopsis Measuring and Restoring customer trust by : Simon Stotz
Download or read book Measuring and Restoring customer trust written by Simon Stotz and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2022-02-09 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Much has been written about trust. Despite the fact that there is a general understand-ing of how important trust is in interpersonal and business relations it becomes obvi-ous that this construct remains somewhat indistinct when it comes to pinning down how trust is build or destroyed, how levels of trust can be measured precisely and how trust can be restored if it has deteriorated. Therefor this research makes use of an earlier model by Kreikenberg (2013) which pro-vides one of the most comprehensive models for measuring trust via seven trust-build-ing factors in five trust-dimensions. This model, due to its complexity, has been adapted and simplified. Moreover, the model was enhanced to include an empirical approach to detect trust building measures to restore trust. The adapted model was put to an empirical test on the Volkswagen Diesel Exhaust Scandal of 2015 with VW-customers. Findings show that the adapted model could pro-vide results on which dimensions and factors show a deterioration of trust and simul-taneously how trust gaps detected could be filled via measures proposed by custom-ers. Although this research must be called explorative, results give some indication that the new model appears to work satisfactory and should be put to further empirical tests in other companies and industry to find further proof for a general applicability.
Book Synopsis Business Ethics - A Philosophical and Behavioral Approach by : Christian A. Conrad
Download or read book Business Ethics - A Philosophical and Behavioral Approach written by Christian A. Conrad and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-06-13 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this textbook we examine the extent to which moral values play a role as productive forces for companies and the economy as a whole, and explores the effect of ethical and unethical behavior at both levels. We show how ethics improves productivity, and provide specific ethics tools for practical application for both students and managers. Stemming from an overall interdisciplinary approach, this textbook fills a gap in the literature on ethics in business. Following a textbook structure, we first derive knowledge from scientific studies that are relevant for students, and then summarize the results. We explain ethical assessment approaches, and then provide an ethical assessment of economic behavior using case studies. Roleplaying and games are used to explain the behavior of people in relation to ethics. The 2nd edition has been completely revised and expanded to include new findings from the behavioral sciences (psychology, social psychology, sociology and behavioral economics). In particular, the research on emotions, motivation and group behavior have given rise to many new impulses in business ethics. In addition, new case studies and new chapters were included, like Politics and Morality, Theories of Justice, Global Ethics, and Institutions as Solutions to Specific Game Situations (game theory). This book is important for students and researchers as well as policymakers and business executives due to its focus on applications.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The increasing demands for internal combustion engines with regard to fuel consumption, emissions and driveability lead to more actuators, sensors and complex control functions. A systematic implementation of the electronic control systems requires mathematical models from basic design through simulation to calibration. The book treats physically-based as well as models based experimentally on test benches for gasoline (spark ignition) and diesel (compression ignition) engines and uses them for the design of the different control functions. The main topics are: - Development steps for engine control - Stationary and dynamic experimental modeling - Physical models of intake, combustion, mechanical system, turbocharger, exhaust, cooling, lubrication, drive train - Engine control structures, hardware, software, actuators, sensors, fuel supply, injection system, camshaft - Engine control methods, static and dynamic feedforward and feedback control, calibration and optimization, HiL, RCP, control software development - Control of gasoline engines, control of air/fuel, ignition, knock, idle, coolant, adaptive control functions - Control of diesel engines, combustion models, air flow and exhaust recirculation control, combustion-pressure-based control (HCCI), optimization of feedforward and feedback control, smoke limitation and emission control This book is an introduction to electronic engine management with many practical examples, measurements and research results.
