Book Synopsis Aircraft Maintenance Programs by : David Lapesa Barrera
Download or read book Aircraft Maintenance Programs written by David Lapesa Barrera and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-02-16 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides the first comprehensive comparison of the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) requirements of the two most widely known aviation regulators: the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It offers an in-depth examination of the elements of an AMP, explaining the aircraft accident investigations and events that have originated and modelled the current rules. By introducing the Triangle of Airworthiness model (Reliability, Quality and Safety), the book enables easier understanding of the processes by which an aircraft and its components are deemed to be in a safe condition for operation from a cost-effective and optimization perspective. The book compares the best practices used by top airlines and compiles a series of tools and techniques to improve the standards of the AMP. Aircraft maintenance engineers, students in the field of aerospace engineering, and airlines staff, as well as researchers more widely interested in safety, quality, and reliability will benefit from reading this book

Book Synopsis Introduction to Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of Aircraft, Engines and Components by : Shevantha Weerasekera
Download or read book Introduction to Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of Aircraft, Engines and Components written by Shevantha Weerasekera and published by SAE International. This book was released on 2020-12-29 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introduction to Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of Aircraft, Engines and Components brings together the basic aspects of a fundamentally important part of the aerospace industry, the one that supports the global technical efforts to keep passenger and cargo planes flying reliably and safely. Over time, aircraft components and structural parts are subject to environmental effects, such as corrosion and other types of material deterioration, wear and fatigue. Such parts could fail in service and affect the safe operation of the aircraft if the degradation were not detected and addressed in time. Regular planned maintenance supports the current and future value of the aircraft by minimizing the physical decline of the aircraft and engines throughout its life. Introduction to Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of Aircraft, Engines and Components was written by the industry veteran, Shevantha K. Weerasekera, an aerospace engineer with 20+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, who currently leads the engineering team of a major technical enterprise in the field.

Book Synopsis Crew Resource Management Training by : Norman MacLeod
Download or read book Crew Resource Management Training written by Norman MacLeod and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-05-05 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book provides a data-driven approach to real-world crew resource management (CRM) applicable to commercial pilot performance. It addresses the shift to a systems-based resilience thinking that aims to understand how worker performance provides a buffer against failure. This book will be the first to bring these ideas together. Taking a competence-based approach offers a more coherent, relevant approach to CRM. The book presents relevant, real-world examples of the concepts and outlines a change in thinking around pilot performance and data interpretation that is overdue. Airlines, pilots and aviation industry professionals will benefit from the insights into organisational design and alternative approaches to training. FEATURES Approaches CRM from a competence-based perspective Uses a systems model to bring coherence to CRM Includes a chapter on using blended learning and virtual reality to deliver CRM Features research on work/life balance, morale, pilot fatigue and link to error Operationalises ‘resilience engineering’ in a crew context
Book Synopsis Examination of the U.S. Air Force's Aircraft Sustainment Needs in the Future and Its Strategy to Meet Those Needs by : National Research Council
Download or read book Examination of the U.S. Air Force's Aircraft Sustainment Needs in the Future and Its Strategy to Meet Those Needs written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2011-11-17 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ability of the United States Air Force (USAF) to keep its aircraft operating at an acceptable operational tempo, in wartime and in peacetime, has been important to the Air Force since its inception. This is a much larger issue for the Air Force today, having effectively been at war for 20 years, with its aircraft becoming increasingly more expensive to operate and maintain and with military budgets certain to further decrease. The enormously complex Air Force weapon system sustainment enterprise is currently constrained on many sides by laws, policies, regulations and procedures, relationships, and organizational issues emanating from Congress, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Air Force itself. Against the back-drop of these stark realities, the Air Force requested the National Research Council (NRC) of the National Academies, under the auspices of the Air Force Studies Board to conduct and in-depth assessment of current and future Air Force weapon system sustainment initiatives and recommended future courses of action for consideration by the Air Force. Examination of the U.S. Air Force's Aircraft Sustainment Needs in the Future and Its Strategy to Meet Those Needs addresses the following topics: Assess current sustainment investments, infrastructure, and processes for adequacy in sustaining aging legacy systems and their support equipment. Determine if any modifications in policy are required and, if so, identify them and make recommendations for changes in Air Force regulations, policies, and strategies to accomplish the sustainment goals of the Air Force. Determine if any modifications in technology efforts are required and, if so, identify them and make recommendations regarding the technology efforts that should be pursued because they could make positive impacts on the sustainment of the current and future systems and equipment of the Air Force. Determine if the Air Logistics Centers have the necessary resources (funding, manpower, skill sets, and technologies) and are equipped and organized to sustain legacy systems and equipment and the Air Force of tomorrow. Identify and make recommendations regarding incorporating sustainability into future aircraft designs.
