This book was released on 2018-08-20 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The domain structure of Co/Pd(1.6/6.3 A)xN multilayers and its relation to the bulk magnetic properties of the samples were studied. The Co/Pd multilayers were deposited by rf and dc magnetron sputtering onto different substrates. It was found that magnetic and magnetooptical properties and domain structure of the multilayers were affected by total film thickness and substrate condition. Magnetization, coercivity, and anisotropy of the films decreased significantly as the film thickness dropped below 100 A. However, Kerr rotation angle had a maximum at the same thickness. The width of the domain structure increased with the decrease of the film thickness attaining the single domain state at N = 10. The initial curves in Co/Pd multilayers were found to depend on demagnetization process. The samples demagnetized by inplane field showed the largest difference between initial curves and the corresponding parts of the loops. Different domain structures were observed in the samples demagnetized by perpendicular and in-plane magnetic fields. Gadetsky, S. and Wu, Teho and Suzuki, T. and Mansuripur, M. Unspecified Center ...

Download or read book Magnetic Thin Films, Multilayers and Superlattices written by A. Fert and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1991-06-06 with total page 642 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Materials Research in thin and ultrathin magnetic structures is a multidisciplinary field which heavily relies on state-of-the-art growth, characterization and theoretical approaches to build a comprehensive physical picture on how magnetic properties depend on interfacial structural issues, interlayer coupling and transport phenomena. Often in this field, the critical properties and characterization required necessitates knowledge of structural and magnetic phenomena extending over several atomic planes. Atomic controlled growth techniques are required and atomic sensitivity is needed from magnetic and structural probes. This critical knowledge is vital for device applications, providing the basis for the synergistic interactions that are predominant in this field of research. This volume is the definitive reference source for anyone interested in the latest advances and results of current experimental research in ultrathin film magnetism.

Book Synopsis Curvilinear Micromagnetism by : Denys Makarov
Download or read book Curvilinear Micromagnetism written by Denys Makarov and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-11-02 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book providing overview of magnetism in curved geometries, highlighting numerous peculiarities emerging from geometrically curved magnetic objects such as curved wires, shells, as well as complex three-dimensional structures. Extending planar two-dimensional structures into the three-dimensional space has become a general trend in multiple disciplines across electronics, photonics, plasmonics and magnetics. This approach provides the means to modify conventional and even launch novel functionalities by tailoring the local curvature of an object. The book covers the theory of curvilinear micromagnetism as well as experimental studies of geometrically curved magnets including both fabrication and characterization. With its coverage of fundamental aspects, together with exploration of numerous applications across magnonics, bio-engineering, soft robotics and shapeable magnetoelectronics, this edited collection is ideal for all scientists in academia and industry seeking an overview and wishing to keep abreast of advances in the novel field of curvilinear micromagnetism. It provides easy but comprehensive access to the field for newcomers, and can be used for graduate-level courses on this subject.

Book Synopsis Small Scale Structures by : N.F. de Rooij
Download or read book Small Scale Structures written by N.F. de Rooij and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 559 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the proceedings of 3 symposia dealing with various aspects of small scale structures. Symposium A deals with the development of new materials, including ceramics, polymers, metals, etc., their microstructuring as well as their potential for application in microsystems. All kinds of microsystems are considered, e.g. mechanical, magnetic, optical, chemical, biochemical and issues related to assembly and packaging were also covered.Symposium B deals with four topics: synthesis and preparation of nanostructured ceramics and composites with well-controlled geometric order and chemical composition; coupling of these structures to transducers for current and future chemical and biochemical devices based upon microoptics, microelectronics, microionics, microelectrodes or molecular cages; planar thin film structures and the control of covalent thin film/transducer couplings, the control of selective, stable and sensitive recognition centers at the surface, at grain boundaries or in the bulk of selected nanostructured materials with extremely narrow particle size distributions; analysis of these structures and sensor functions by means of techniques utilizing photons, electrons, ions, or atomic particle beam probes.Symposium E examines the structure-property relationships in thin films and multilayers, from the point of view of both fundamental studies and practical applications.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nanotechnology is a "catch-all" description of activities at the level of atoms and molecules that have applications in the real world. A nanometer is a billionth of a metre, about 1/80,000 of the diameter of a human hair, or 10 times the diameter of a hydrogen atom. Nanotechnology is now used in precision engineering, new materials development as well as in electronics; electromechanical systems as well as mainstream biomedical applications in areas such as gene therapy, drug delivery and novel drug discovery techniques. This book presents the latest research in this frontier field.
