Book excerpt: Jezebel died 3,000 years ago. But her spirit lives today. Jezebel was the most wicked woman in the Bible, a powerful seductress who killed the prophets, led Israel into idolatry and immorality, and emasculated men. She was seductive and determined to snuff out the voices coming against her, because these voices were calling out for repentance. In twenty-first-century America, Jezebel is not a person. But it's as if the spirit of Jezebel is alive again today. The influence of the same demonic force is being felt in the massive increase of pornography and sexual temptation, the militant spirit of abortion, the rise of radical feminism, and most importantly, in the attempt to silence prophetic voices. Just as Jezebel clashed with strong men almost three thousand years ago, the demonic spirit of Jezebel is powerful in America, and it is going after the church. This eye-opening book not only unveils the satanic plot to destroy America, beginning with an all-out assault on the church, but it will equip every believer with tools to defeat the enemy in their own personal lives as well as in the nation. This book will show you how the spirit of Jezebel is active in America today and teach you how to protect the church. OTHER BOOKS BY MICHAEL L. Book excerpt: Here's the second entry in veteran author Claudia Mills' charming middle-grade series, which finds the lovably sardonic title character starting the fourth grade, which he's dreading: everyone in fourth grade is expected to join the school choir. And sing. In front of everyone. Mason can't think of many things he enjoys less than singing. But performing in front of other people might come close; Mason devises a foolproof plan that will keep him out of the spotlight on concert night. Of course, in the world of Mason Dixon, there is no such thing as a foolproof plan. There is only disaster.

Shortly after a fall-out with her best friend, sixth grader Miranda starts receiving mysterious notes, and she doesn’t know what to do. The notes tell her that she must write a letter—a true story, and that she can’t share her mission with anyone. It would be easy to ignore the strange messages, except that whoever is leaving them has an uncanny ability to predict the future. If that is the case, then Miranda has a big problem—because the notes tell her that someone is going to die, and she might be too late to stop it. Winner of the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award for Fiction A New York Times Bestseller and Notable Book Five Starred Reviews A Junior Library Guild Selection "Absorbing." —People "Readers ... are likely to find themselves chewing over the details of this superb and intricate tale long afterward." —The Wall Street Journal "Lovely and almost impossibly clever." —The Philadelphia Inquirer "It's easy to imagine readers studying Miranda's story as many times as she's read L'Engle's, and spending hours pondering the provocative questions it raises." —Publishers Weekly, Starred review

Book excerpt: Hmmm! Who's Speaking? is an inspiring collection of first-hand reports, so to speak, that the author gathered by visiting a variety of churches from a wide array of religious denominations and backgrounds. Then he shared them first with his minister and then others so that each may learn something from other members of the body of Christ. Some of his visits were to mosques, temples, synagogues, and even cults. The author hopes his reports of visits to denominational and nondenominational churches will encourage some readers who do not attend a church, or maybe feel uncomfortable where they do go, to check out another church. He feels God has a specific church in mind for you so that you will become involved in spreading the Good News about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And some of his stories in this book are about other happenings where God got his message over to the author through experiences as a Boy Scout chaplain, a Billy Graham Emergency Response chaplain, and as a chaplain for the Tulsa Juvenile Detention Center. Then there are stories about ways and things God used to get his attention either physically or with words or music or even animals like foxes, donkeys, frogs, birds, and even insects. The author’s hope is that you, too, may recognize something similar that’s happened in your life, and maybe you’ll think, Hmmm! Was that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit speaking?

This book was released on 2022-02-04 with total page 283 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To cope with the pandemic, many educational institutions in the United States have resorted to emergency remote teaching (ERT). Distance/online learning is a complex process in terms of the design, analysis, and time taken to develop and implement courses and programs. Having been around for decades, it has evolved and morphed into a multidimensional procedure that needs meticulous planning, evolution, and evaluation. It provides meaningful learning experiences to students who may not otherwise have the option to attend college. Students of distance/online courses and programs usually choose to join voluntarily, and designers of such programs purposefully plan for them to be online from the start. In contrast, ERT is an emergency/crisis-based need to move teaching and learning to alternative environments until the crisis is averted or ended. Preparing Faculty for Technology Dependency in the Post-COVID-19 Era is a comprehensive guide that focuses on preparing pre-service teachers, in-service teachers, and higher education faculty to harness technology dependence in an emergency remote teaching era by discussing current and post-pandemic preparedness. Covering a wide range of topics such as digital reality, teacher preparedness, and technology dependency, this book is crucial for educators, administrators, pre-service teachers, researchers, academicians, and students.

This book was released on 2021-01-25 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the last decade, there has been a surge of interest in urbanization and economic development, sparked by the realization that making urban life sustainable is one of the greatest challenges facing us in the 21st century (this is now one of the core sustainable development goals of the United Nations). This has exerted considerable pressure on researchers to come up with more scientific ways of studying urbanism and economic activity over the long run, which has resulted not only in the development of new theoretical frameworks, but also in the collection of vast amounts of data from a range of settings. This has led to the realization that, although there are significant differences between settlements in different settings, there are nonetheless important regularities and commonalities between a diverse group of settlements in range of geographical and historical contexts, including both ancient and modern ones. This suggests that a common feature of settlements is their ability to generate increased social connectivity, greater division of labour and specialization, and enhanced technological invention and innovation, albeit with costs to levels of equality, quality of life, and standards of living, as well as impacts on the environment, which cannot be separated from the emergence of confederations and states and the creation of settlement systems, hierarchies and networks. We believe that this field of enquiry now stands at a critical juncture. Although it is now feasible to talk about many aspects of ancient and modern urbanism with relative confidence, such as the numbers of cities or their sizes, much of the discussion of these themes within historical and archaeological circles has been on a discursive or qualitative level, while it is often difficult to harmonize the different models that have been applied to date into a consistent empirical and theoretical framework. A new approach to settlements throughout different contexts should now be within our grasp, however, thanks to both the ease with which information can be disseminated and the facilities that recent developments in IT offer us to model, analyse, and statistically test data.
