Book excerpt: This new box set by best-selling author J.D. Walker features seven sexy stories of men who find love through the power of music. Contains the stories: I Can't Get No Satisfaction: Georgie Baldt is dissatisfied with his life. Working dead-end jobs leaves little time to find that spark he’s lost, let alone someone to love. Then a trick from his past becomes his new produce manager. Ry Archibald remembers Georgie, but they end up arguing constantly at work, despite the sexual tension between them. Georgie decides it’s time for a change. Will Ry tag along for the ride? Love, Love Me Dude: Tory Cuthbert is shocked when Wheeler Ridley, a man from his past, arrives at his motel. Meanwhile, there’s Maury Landrum -- handsome and willing, yet Tory can’t seem to take the next step. When Wheeler hits on Tory without recognizing him, Tory reveals all. But Wheeler remembers things differently. Then Maury resigns. Tory has to act quickly before he loses what he never knew he had, forever. Loving Me, Loving You: Hanson Yoo is tired of his job, and doing things to please his mother. A harrowing encounter at night in an alley leads him to Lindsey Grier, a man he’s sure would never look at him twice. But he is looking, and Hanson doesn’t know what to do about it. A serious misstep and a life-changing moment lead him to take charge of his future and do something for himself, this time. Norwegian Woody: Woodrow “Woody” Anker grew up with the Zumpanos, and he’s in love with the eldest son, town Sheriff Rafe Zumpano. Problem is, Rafe is an alcoholic in denial and Woody wants to know why. When he finds out the truth, Woody doesn’t know how to move beyond all the lies. It takes a punch in the face, a hard kiss and even harder words to get these men to a place of trust. And love, maybe. Paint It, Black: Engelbert Trentworthy -- call him Trent -- doesn’t take himself seriously. He sleeps around, thinking that’s all he deserves because of his black past. And then, he meets photographer Elias Lane, whose photos of Trent cause havoc in his life. Elias wants more from Trent, but Trent’s not having it. So the dance begins, and Elias will do anything to get past Trent’s barriers, because he’s perfect. Purple Daze: When Gabe St. James meets Beebub Beaumont, he knows it’s love. But his best friend is larger than life and not meant for the small town in which they live, and all too soon, he goes away to college. The day Beebub comes home, all the feelings Gabe has tried to bury return to the surface, and resentment rules his actions. Beebub wants Gabe, but Gabe, he’s not so sure anymore. Take Me Back: Gus Atchison despises Seb Paddington for choosing a job in another state over their relationship. But Seb keeps coming back to town, trying to start something up between them again. They end up arguing and finally call a truce. However, when Seb returns four months later, he’s too thin and Gus realizes he still has feelings for Seb. Will Gus take him back? Or will they remain at odds forever?

He used to be a go-getter, but then the real world hit after college, and being magna cum laude with a major in Liberal Arts meant squat next to student loans and paying the bills. In the middle of all the mind-numbing minutia of working two dead-end jobs, Georgie just wants to find that spark again, and maybe someone to love, too. In fact, Georgie's never forgotten the stranger who took his virginity one night years ago in the back alley of a bar when he was drunk and begging for it. Loudly. The man had been kind, and afterward, Georgie had run away in shame. So what are the odds that the same man from back then is now Georgie’s new boss at the trendy grocery store where he works mornings? Ry Archibald, newly minted produce manager is a fine figure of a man and remembers Georgie. However, they get off on the wrong foot mainly because of a coworker and his slutty ways. Harsh words are exchanged and Georgie retreats into his shell. Let the pretty people have their fun, is Georgie’s way of thinking. Who was he kidding, anyway? No one would look at him twice. But Ry is looking. And when Georgie hands in his two weeks’ notice, Ry pulls out all the stops so they can finally become friends. Maybe more.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Book 1 of Colin Limmerick's adventures. Colin Limmerick lives a double life. His rugged good looks and merchant fishing trade don't coincide with his desire to continue his higher education at a London university. His Irish working-class pirate-like behavior repulses his stuffy elitist professor making it difficult for his research to be taken seriously. Looks are deceiving when his research idea to prove Darwin by demonstrating the great Irish deer megaloceros giganticus was sexually selected against. He meets physicist, Dr. Sasha Dimitrikov, an eccentric escapee from the Russian Revolution, who has developed a time travel theory. The only way Limmerick can prove his research is to venture through a prehistory journey. In the midst of his frustration, he becomes enchanted with a lovely research student, Rosa, who he manages to woo with great difficulty. Her Edwardian prudish scowl continuously pushes him away, despite her stimulated attraction for him. She mistakenly tosses Limmerick aside and is lured into Dr. Dimitrikov's arms. This occurs when the three scholars are on the first prehistoric expedition 10,000 years in the past in search of megaloceros. They encounter a prehistoric environment that is too unknown and unmanageable for modern people to survive. They are faced with several challenges but manage to conquer by survival of the fittest. Limmerick's research on prehistoric evolution is greatly admired by a foreign professor from India, Dr. Sharma, who introduces his voluptuous daughter, Amoli. She falls instantly in love with Limmerick where he is at first reluctant but succumbs to her seduction dance not realizing the clash of the cultures that lie ahead. At the same time, he is faced with a new challenge recognizing the first expedition left unexpected damage. He must time travel again in order to mend the chaotic mess he left the first time. He and Dr. Dimitrikov are faced with another prehistoric expedition, which is more life threatening than the first especially when they are violently confronted by a family of Neanderthals. His excessive drinking carries through the novel but heightens with his destructive behavior when he finally comes to terms knowing two 20th century men can't play God and that he must fight for what he truly loves.

But what if there was a way to teach children how to manage priorities, focus on goals and be a positive influence on the world around them? The Leader in Meis that programme. It's based on a hugely successful initiative carried out at the A.B. Combs Elementary School in North Carolina. To hear the parents of A. B Combs talk about the school is to be amazed. In 1999, the school debuted a programme that taught The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Peopleto a pilot group of students. The parents reported an incredible change in their children, who blossomed under the programme. By the end of the following year the average end-of-grade scores had leapt from 84 to 94. This book will launch the message onto a much larger platform. Stephen R. Covey takes the 7 Habits, that have already changed the lives of millions of people, and shows how children can use them as they develop. Those habits -- be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win-win, seek to understand and then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the saw -- are critical skills to learn at a young age and bring incredible results, proving that it's never too early to teach someone how to live well.

Book excerpt: Shadow towns, smugglers and secret notes — this trio of New York authors are a TRIPLE SHOT of twists and turns in three novellas. Payback leads to an unmarked grave in Ross Klavan’s Thump Gun Hitched. A freak accident forces two L.A. cops to play out a deadly obsession that takes them from back alley payoffs to hard time in prison, then deep into the tunnel networks south of the border to a murderous town that’s only rumored to exist. Before the last shot is fired, everything they thought was certain proves to be a shadow and everything they trusted opens into a trap. Life was so much simpler for Tim O’Mara’s marijuana-selling narrator in Smoked when all he had to worry about was keeping his customers, now ex-wife, and daughter satisfied. When he forges a reluctant alliance with his ex-wife’s new lover, he realizes there’s lots of money to be made from the world’s number one smuggled legal product — cigarettes. Unfortunately, his latest shipment contained some illegal automatic weapons. Now he’s playing with the big boys and finds the price of the game way over his head. Murder was never part of his business model. And finally in Twist of Fate, Charles Salzberg follows Trish Sullivan, an ambitious TV reporter working in a small, upstate New York market. She receives a note from Meg Montgomery, a beautiful young woman convicted of murdering her husband and two children. Montgomery claims she’s innocent and Sullivan, smelling a big story that may garner some national attention, investigates and turns up evidence that the woman has, indeed, been framed. What happens next changes the life of both women in unexpected ways.
