Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imagine one day you are relatively healthy and the next you are told "your kidneys are failing!" You end up on dialysis, then are taken off dialysis and left with severely impaired kidneys. Eating a meal or drinking any kind of beverage suddenly requires a dietitian or nutritionist to tell you what you can and cannot have. This happened to me two years ago. I was shocked then scared of what my life was going to look like going forward. After living with this diagnosis for two years, and having witnessed others live and die with similar conditions, I decided to write this book. To help others who have been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease navigate through the total life changes that are necessary to live with this disease. In this book I discuss six strategies that have been invaluable in helping me continue to live a full and active life after my diagnosis of chronic kidney disease. I discuss the importance of complying with necessary changes to your diet, your medication schedule and changing your outlook on chronic kidney disease. All of the strategies in this book will help you focus on the number one goal, maintaining kidney function while not further damaging your kidneys. The best part is learning that it is possible to continue to live a rewarding life even after receiving a life altering diagnosis of chronic kidney disease.
