Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I don't consider this a self help book, but more of a "Spirit Help" book of counsel or thoughts for consideration. The title is self explanatory in a way. However the term "listening to the wind" is from the Native American tradition, as is speaking from the heart, or the one eye of the heart (Chante Ista). My view of listening to the wind is listening to what nature, the universe, and your higher self is telling you, or maybe telling you to pass on to others. Speaking from the heart is conveying the messages you get from listening to the wind. It can also mean speaking straight and not with a forked tongue. You travel the road of life and you write about things, and maybe these things will strike a chord with others. I leave it to Great Spirit as to whether or not this is meaningful for you. My intention is that some kind of healing will take place from the thoughts that I am offering for consideration. I believe in the old ways where a counsel of elders would sit around a campfire and speak their thoughts. Take it in that spirit. Book Synopsis Any Way the Wind Blows by : Rainbow Rowell
Download or read book Any Way the Wind Blows written by Rainbow Rowell and published by Wednesday Books. This book was released on 2021-07-06 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New York Times bestselling author Rainbow Rowell's epic fantasy, the Simon Snow trilogy, concludes with Any Way the Wind Blows. In Carry On, Simon Snow and his friends realized that everything they thought they understood about the world might be wrong. And in Wayward Son, they wondered whether everything they understood about themselves might be wrong. Now, Simon and Baz and Penelope and Agatha must decide how to move forward. For Simon, that means choosing whether he still wants to be part of the World of Mages — and if he doesn't, what does that mean for his relationship with Baz? Meanwhile Baz is bouncing between two family crises and not finding any time to talk to anyone about his newfound vampire knowledge. Penelope would love to help, but she's smuggled an American Normal into London, and now she isn't sure what to do with him. And Agatha? Well, Agatha Wellbelove has had enough. Any Way the Wind Blows takes the gang back to England, back to Watford, and back to their families for their longest and most emotionally wrenching adventure yet. This book is a finale. It tells secrets and answers questions and lays ghosts to rest. The Simon Snow Trilogy was conceived as a book about Chosen One stories; Any Way the Wind Blows is an ending about endings—about catharsis and closure, and how we choose to move on from the traumas and triumphs that try to define us.

Learn to ask better, more helpful questions of your work so that you can create stronger and more powerful photographs.
Photographers often look at an image—one they’ve either already created or are in the process of making—and ask themselves a simple question: “Is this a good photograph?” It’s an understandable question, but it’s really not very helpful. How are you supposed to answer that? What does “good” even mean? Is it the same for everyone?
What if you were equipped to ask better, more constructive questions of your work so that you could think more intentionally and creatively, and in doing so, bring more specific action and vision to the act of creating photographs? What if asking stronger questions allowed you to establish a more effective approach to your image-making? In The Heart of the Photograph: 100 Questions for Making Stronger, More Expressive Photographs, photographer and author David duChemin helps you learn to ask better questions of your work in order to craft more successful photographs—photographs that express and connect, photographs that are strong and, above all, photographs that are truly yours.
From the big-picture questions—What do I want this image to accomplish?—to the more detail-oriented questions that help you get there—What is the light doing? Where do the lines lead? What can I do about it?—David walks you through his thought process so that you can establish your own. Along the way, he discusses the building blocks from which compelling photographs are made, such as gesture, balance, scale, contrast, perspective, story, memory, symbolism, and much more. The Heart of the Photograph is not a theoretical book. It is a practical and useful book that equips you to think more intentionally as a photographer and empowers you to ask more helpful questions of you and your work, so that you can produce images that are not only better than “good,” but as powerful and authentic as you hope them to be.

Book excerpt: As a poor cabbie and his wife eke out a meager existence in Victorian London, their little boy, Diamond—named after his father’s horse—is befriended by the North Wind. While Diamond learns much about life through his travels with North Wind, his visit to the country at her “back” proves to be transformative. As life in London grows especially hard, that moment provides Diamond with the resources to touch those around him with beauty and truth. Although At the Back of the North Wind was written for children, in it MacDonald deals with deep themes, especially the potential for suffering to be redemptive, and the meaning of death.
