La padronanza delle conoscenze e la consapevolezza di come esse siano state prodotte, il saper usare gli operatori cognitivi, il saper argomentare i propri punti di vista nel rispetto di quelli altrui e nel riconoscimento della loro pluralità, la scoperta della propria identità individuale e sociale e lo sviluppo di identità culturali aperte hanno costituito gli obiettivi dell’intero percorso poiché fondamentali per l’acquisizione di una cultura storica in un’ottica interculturale.

Dall'analisi dei dati è emerso il profondo e proficuo legame tra la dimensione cognitiva (capacità di lavorare su e con i punti di vista) e la dimensione affettiva (disponibilità a mettersi in gioco) nell'apprendimento della storia in chiave interculturale. La resistenza all'approccio interculturale proposto è apparsa legata alla paura negli allievi di commettere errori con la conseguente tendenza ad adattarsi alle presunte aspettative dell'autorità. Se ne è dedotta la necessità di ridiscutere la questione della valutazione alla luce di un discorso di educazione interculturale.
