Book excerpt: Cette recherche a pour objet l'étude des conditions de production et de publication des informations comptables et financières des entreprises de nos jours. Les rapports financiers sont analysés, d'un point de vue théorique, en tant qu'un bien économique obéissant à une offre et à une demande. Cette analyse bénéficie des contributions de l'économie de l'information, des théories statistiques de prise de décision en avenir incertain, des mandats, des signaux et économique de la réglementation, de l'approche positive de la comptabilité et du critère de la statistique suffisante. Analyse de l'impact, sur les cours boursiers des entreprises, de l'apparition d'organes de contrôle comme la SEC aux USA et la COB en France. Cette dernière a été analysée à partir d'une base de données de 146 sociétés. Deux échantillons, un composé des entreprises du groupe expérimental et l'autre d'entreprises du groupe de contrôle, ont été étudiés pendant une période de neuf ans (quatre ans avant, l'année neutre et quatre ans après l'apparition de la COB). Nous avons utilisé le modèle de marche, la méthode de l'analyse résiduelle et les estimateurs de: Scholes-Williams sur une période (1977), Scholes-Williams sur deux périodes d'après Fowler et Rorke (1983) et Cohen, Hawawini et al. (1983). L'interprétation des résultats a été effectuée grâce aux statistiques multidimensionnelles: D2 de Mahalanobis, T2 de Hotelling, a de Wilks, os de Roy et T2 de Lawley-Hotelling...
