Book Synopsis Stoicism: Inner Light Revealed by : Edward Sianski
Download or read book Stoicism: Inner Light Revealed written by Edward Sianski and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2023-03-26 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book takes to heart Matthew 13:52: “Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of the household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.” Although Stoicism dates back to Greek and Roman times, its influences have never waned. This philosophy has underpinned the way of life of individuals and groups for hundreds of years. Twelve Step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon have successfully incorporated its key ideas to help many thousands of people. I have been sober for 29 continuous years after drinking for 25 years and can attest to the effectiveness of Twelve Step programs. Stoic principles are used in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy. This book also examines a cross section of people who have utilized Stoic principles in their lives of service to others. Stoicism has proven to be a reliable scaffold for people determined to make a difference in their community, sometimes against formidable opposition. I believe this book will help to inspire a wide range of people to navigate their way through life, stoically.

Download or read book On Light written by K.P. Clarke and published by Society for the Study of Medieval Languages and Literature. This book was released on 2014-12-30 with total page 229 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The essays assembled in this new volume explore the fascination of the Middle Ages with the mystery of light, and its central role in the period's thought and creativity. Spanning medieval theology, literature, science and material culture, the topics covered include the history of light (and, inseparably, darkness) as a literary figure, from the Latin Bible to Geoffrey Chaucer; theoretical speculations on colour, sight and blindness, and their unexpected fertilization of fields such as poetic imagery; medieval preachers' evocations of light as much more than merely figuring the moral and religious, from St. Simeon in the ninth century to John Fisher in the early sixteenth; indeed the belief that light possessed not only reality but physical materality, as manifested in artefacts such as the Gloucester Candlestick. On Light thereby reveals not only the importance of this phenomenon to diverse aspects of medieval culture, but profound and unremarked ways in which it helped to bind these into a whole.

Book excerpt: A 365-day devotional that will encourage and help readers overcome the fear that consumes, disturbs, and paralyzes them. To live without fear is one of the most challenging goals you can make in your life. Fear lurks in the deep recesses of the human heart and surprises even the most mature Christian. There are over 400 instances in the Bible of God telling His children to not be afraid. If repetition of a matter has anything to do with importance, God decided this was a big one. But rather than being a command or admonition, the tone spoken in turn by God, angels, and disciples is compelling and encouraging, like a parent comforting a fearful child. In Unafraid, Gracie Malone brings light, a touch of humor, stories, quotes, prayers, and encouragement to everyone who is fighting to trust in the only One who can take their fear away.

Book Synopsis Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit by : Rav Sha'ul
Download or read book Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit written by Rav Sha'ul and published by Rav Sha'ul. This book was released on with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is an opposing Spirit the Bible calls the Spirit of the Antichrist. It is at heart the denial of The Shema (the greatest commandment). It is declaring that “Yahuah came to Earth as a man and died to save us”. We call this the Doctrine of Incarnation. The "carn" in "incarnation" refers to flesh or meat (of the human body). Thus, "incarnate" means "in the flesh". REINCARNATION is a word that means "to be born again (in the flesh)". Any concept of a Trinity or a Bi-Entity is blasphemy as Yahuah has declared He is ONE and He is Spirit and cannot and will not “come in the flesh”. The phrase “in the flesh” means... “natural/physical origin (not Spiritual), born of natural origin ONLY, mere human/natural birth only... APART FROM DIVINE INFLUENCE, prone to sin and opposed to Yahuah”. g4561 ‘sarki’ - Thayer: 2a) the body of a man 2b) used of natural or physical origin, generation or relationship 2b1) born of natural generation 4) the flesh, denotes mere human nature, the Earthly nature of man apart from divine influence, and therefore prone to sin and opposed to God” The True and False Spirits are defined by this understanding. The Spirit of Yahuah declares that Yahusha “came in the flesh” outside any divine influence, not Yahuah. The Spirit of the False Messiah (demi-god) is that Jesus is “God in the flesh” or that “God” came to Earth as a man and we killed him. Yahuah is Spirit NOT “sinful flesh”. To declare Yahuah “came in the flesh and died” is to deny what He declares about Himself. We are warned of this by Sha’ul in Romans 1 not to worship a man who died (Yahusha). Yahuah is Invisible Spirit not mortal man who died.
