Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Can a 50-page book literally change your life? Heaven is a place that everyone wants to go to, but, sadly, not everyone will get there. As you read through this book, I would like you to consider very carefully where you will end up after leaving this world. Will it be Heaven or it will be Hell? The choice is yours. I will keep referring to this point as we go on our journey through this book, because it is so important, both to you and to me. During this year, I have written three small books and they are as follows: * The Cruise * The Broken Bits and Pieces of Life * Faith in the Furnace The first one tells of a journey to Heaven and what Heaven will be like for all of those who get there. The next book is about the broken lives we sometimes have and how to get them mended. The third one is totally different to the first two as it tells us of how people in the past have had to put up with things coming against them, simply because they believed God rather than man. This one is also a study of the book of Daniel. It also tells of the things that he saw and the dreams of the rulers of his day and what they meant. It also tells of some of the historical things which came true from those dreams and revelations many years and centuries later. Books 1 to 3 are all now in circulation and are obtainable from Amazon. This fourth one is my attempt to show the opposite side to eternity from the first book, The Cruise. This fourth book is going to try to show you the opposite side to eternity from the first book in this series, The Cruise. Heaven is a place that everyone wants to go to, but, sadly, not everyone will get there. That is the message of the Bible. As you read through this book, I would like you to consider very carefully where you will end up after leaving this world. Will it be Heaven or it will be Hell? The choice is yours. I will keep referring to this point as we go on our journey through this book, because it is so important, to you and to me. Book excerpt: In this witty and entertaining collection of travel tales, an acclaimed journalist explores his obsession with trains--and what his rail journeys have taught him about culture and identity. "I've gone around the world in installments. Every trip has been a revelation. I've watched regions, nations, and continents change moods and I've met more people on trains than in forty years of airplane flights. Every train trip has been a spectacle. Trains are stages, cafés, bazaars. The only talk show that will never go off the air..." Beppe Severgnini has spent his life traveling the world, and not just because he's a journalist; he's a passionate, unflagging train buff. Off the Rails recounts some of his favorite trips across Europe, Australia, Asia, and the United States, each journey bringing readers not only to a different place but to a different time, from his honeymoon on the Trans-Siberian Express (in a four-person compartment!), to a winding journey from Russia to Turkey during the last summer of communism, to a recent coast-to-coast trip with his son from Washington, D.C., to Washington State. Off the Rails is the perfect getaway for anyone with a touch of wanderlust, who dreams of escape or just likes to laugh. Filled with memorable characters and perceptive observations, it demonstrates--hilariously--what unites us. With the world in chaos and life in perpetual fast-forward, it's always the right time to hop on board with Beppe Severgnini and meet your charming, hapless, quarrelsome, romantic, shifty, quirky, endearing neighbors.

Book excerpt: Get ready to laugh, cry, smile and think.Twenty-six years ago, my goal and mission in life was to win a New York State Wrestling Championship.I committed myself to a lifestyle and made the sacrifices.I put in the time. I had the hunger, the desire, and the determination, but I came up short. For many years, after I graduated it seemed like I got nothing out of my six years of total dedication to the sport. That the trade-off of what I gave and what I got in return to this sport was way out of whack.I hated wrestling for it.To put every ounce of your soul into something and to get nothing out of it in return was beyond my comprehension and I just could not justify it in my head.Until I had adversity in my life. And slowly but surely, I started realizing how much the sport of wrestling has given back to me.Much more than I ever knew.Dan Gable famously said, "Once you've wrestled, everything else in life is easier."I would take it one step further and say, "Because I've wrestled, some things in life are possible." "6 Minutes Wrestling with Life" is much more than a wrestling book.It is a book on life, love, loss and belief. They don't call it the greatest sport on earth for no reason. It just took me 26 years to understand why.Get ready to laugh, cry, smile and think...Truly Inspirational. You will never look at life the same way again.Every Breath Is Gold Trilogy 6 Minutes Wrestling with Life - Book 1Again - Book 2Your Soul Knows - Book 3

Book excerpt: "It has been a long time since I read a book so moving, plainspoken, and beautiful." —Michael Chabon, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of Moonglow How much of our memory is constructed by imagination? And how does memory shape our lives? As a nine–year–old, Elizabeth Farnsworth struggled to understand the loss of her mother. On a cross–country trip with her father, the heartsick child searches for her mother at train stations along the way. Even more, she confronts mysteries: death, time, and a locked compartment on the train. Weaving a child’s experiences with memories from reporting in danger zones like Cambodia and Iraq, Farnsworth explores how she came to cover mass death and disaster. While she never breaks the tone of a curious investigator, she easily moves between her nine–year–old self and the experienced journalist. She openly confronts the impact of her childhood on the route her life has taken. And, as she provides one beautifully crafted depiction after another, we share her journey, coming to know the acclaimed reporter as she discovers herself.

Book excerpt: WINNER OF THE LINCOLN FORUM BOOK PRIZE “A Lincoln classic...superb.” —The Washington Post “A book for our time.”—Doris Kearns Goodwin Lincoln on the Verge tells the dramatic story of America’s greatest president discovering his own strength to save the Republic. As a divided nation plunges into the deepest crisis in its history, Abraham Lincoln boards a train for Washington and his inauguration—an inauguration Southerners have vowed to prevent. Lincoln on the Verge charts these pivotal thirteen days of travel, as Lincoln discovers his power, speaks directly to the public, and sees his country up close. Drawing on new research, this riveting account reveals the president-elect as a work in progress, showing him on the verge of greatness, as he foils an assassination attempt, forges an unbreakable bond with the American people, and overcomes formidable obstacles in order to take his oath of office.
