Book Synopsis The Chavismo Files by : Fermin Lares
Download or read book The Chavismo Files written by Fermin Lares and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2015-12-15 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the record of a case study: Chavismo and its destructive flaw in Venezuela over more than 15 years. It is about a regime that changed the country's democratic institutions. One that replaced the organization of the state to conform it to its convenience. A regime that expropriated productive agricultural, livestock and food businesses; that nationalized private land, buildings, shopping centers, warehouses, factories; that modified in their detriment the values of key institutions of society, such as the military and the oil industry. Hugo Chavez and his accomplices reversed the political and administrative decentralization of the state to focus government action on the President of the Republic. Venezuela was led to the edge of bankruptcy. Scarcity of basic staples became rampant in the country, health was taken to intensive care, and much of its industry was placed in ruins. Chavismo, as the expression of XXI Century Socialism, divided Venezuelans by promoting hatred among them. Criminality rose to unimaginable levels. Human rights were the most violated. These are the files to be used to judge Chavismo before history.
Book Synopsis Venezuelan Law Governing Restrictive Business Practices by : Gustavo Brillembourg
Download or read book Venezuelan Law Governing Restrictive Business Practices written by Gustavo Brillembourg and published by University Press of America. This book was released on 1985 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book unifies, within a single framework, the disparate laws, regulations, and decrees that bear upon restrictive business practices in Venezuela. Aimed at both the novice and the expert, the book includes historical treatment of the laws and regulatory agencies as well as an extensive scholarly apparatus. In addition, the author presents important United States and European approaches to the problems of restrictive business practices that might be adaptable to the Venezuelan legal system. Because Venezuelan materials are not readily available outside the country, the appendices contain translations of the laws and regulations discussed in the text, including the important Decree 656. Promulgated in 1985, Decree 656 is now the principal regulation governing foreign investment in Venezuela.

Book Synopsis The Failure of Modern Civilization and the Struggle for a "deep" Alternative by : Claudia von Werlhof
Download or read book The Failure of Modern Civilization and the Struggle for a "deep" Alternative written by Claudia von Werlhof and published by Beiträge zur Dissidenz. This book was released on 2011 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Western civilization is the Utopia of a better and higher life on Earth. The globalization of neo-liberalism proves that this project has failed. The paradigm of «Critical Theory of Patriarchy» explains this failure and discusses alternatives. By confronting the central civilizations in history, the egalitarian, life-oriented matriarchal one, and the hierarchical, nature and life dominating, hostile patriarchal one, we see that 5000 years of patriarchy have «replaced» matriarchies and nature itself by a «progressive» counter-world of «capital». This transformation characterizes «capitalist patriarchy» including «socialism». Its demise is due to the «alchemical» destruction of the world's resources, thought of, theologically legitimized and fetishized as «creation». This violence is not recognized. Elites have, instead, begun with a new «military alchemy», treating the whole Planet as weapon of mass destruction. Hence, the «Planetary Movement for Mother Earth».
