Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What do indoor picnics and funny face contests have to do with loving Jesus? More than you realize! As a mom in the throes of parenting, Courtney DeFeo believes that instilling virtues in children starts with laughter, not lecture. That perspective propelled her to create this idea-packed book, in which she offers motivating reflections, real-life stories, and a sandbox full of inventive ways to help you turn your kids’ hearts toward God. Each chapter focuses on one virtue that is key for developing your child’s character. Along with insights into how this virtue plays out in the nitty-gritty of life, Courtney includes a memory verse, activity ideas, and discussion questions to reinforce that virtue throughout the month. Here you’ll find a full year of ways to draw your children closer to God through delightful antics like Family Olympics, One Fancy Feast, and Light ’Em Up. In This House, We Will Giggle shows you how to capture the hearts of your children through fun—so that they experience the goodness of Christ, the joy of following Him, and the difference they can make in the lives of others. Book excerpt: Stories of people who live by faith often incite spiritual growth, whether recorded in the Bible or shared across the room. In the same way, Katie’s Story inspires a life lived closer to God. It is full of pain and joy, doubt and hope, fear and faith. It is so very full of light. Katie’s Story is the true story of Katie Cobb – who she was, how she fought cancer, and the depth of her faith. The story alternates between the voice of Katie, a 14-year-old girl who battled Hodgkin Lymphoma, and the voice of her mother, Sarah. Instead of just knowing about Katie, you will come to really know her through their words. You will read from the pages of her journals as you walk through her difficult journey, and you will witness a relationship with God that brings hope. The story of Katie’s life is revealed in her own words: Let God’s light shine in me. #letGodlightshineinme

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Letting His Light Shine Through: Confessions of a Wicked Man is a story of hope and redemption, as well as a call to arms. This book could also in ways be described as an instruction manual of sorts for new/young Christians. As we navigate through our Christian walk, we are going to have seasons of vast spiritual growth, change, and inevitable sorrow, shame, or grief. How we handle the latter will inevitably cause either more spiritual growth or cause us to lose focus on the Lord given our circumstances. At times it may feel as if you are just spinning your tires, but I assure you God is with you. He is refining you in the fire that you may become purified and as precious as gold. Trials are a given when it comes to growing spiritually; Peter, James, and Paul spoke of this (1 Pet. 5:10 NIV, Jas. 1:12 NIV, and 1 Cor. 10:13 NIV). I feel called to bring to light the need for transparency in Christian leadership and just as importantly in our personal relationships. The reason for this is quite simple; making our struggles, sin, and temptations transparent to others is encouraging. We don't have it all together and that's okay! We are all sinners, and I firmly believe that as followers of Christ we are to act that way. I'm not advocating in the name of sin. I'm advocating in the name of the one who bore our sin. What I've come to learn over the years, and it took many, is that "God never wanted perfect; he just wanted my heart" (Cory Asbury). Whether we like it or not, the world we live in views us as hypocrites. They see us as hateful, spiteful, and bigoted. Not very surprising given that many of us are. I know that stings a little, but that's because it's so true. I think if we spent more time focusing on sharing the good things God has done, is doing, and will do we could change the world. We all have opportunities in our own lives, workplaces, and communities to share the love of Jesus. But here's the thing; I believe that if we are more transparent with our real feelings, own sin, and the transforming love of Jesus, only then will the world see Christianity the way that we see Christianity.

Book excerpt: The Let Your Light Shine! book sends the message that a child has the power to brighten another person's day through a simple act of kindness or generosity. When a child lets his or her "light shine" by helping others, not only does it feel good, but it makes the world a better place. This message will come through loud and clear when families read and sing along with the children's choir featured on the "clear sound" module found in the book. This interactive book allows parents to talk with children about what they can do to help others and to make a difference in their community.

There was an exit, and the only way to see it was through Jesus. There's a Light is a book of two short stories that will expand your mind to believe that you cannot remain in darkness.
