Grâce aux avancées de la médecine, actuellement quatre enfants sur cinq sont sauvés dans les pays industrialisés, et considérés comme survivants. Cependant, la maladie et ses traitements engendrent des séquelles à plus ou moins long terme. En raison de la rareté de ces maladies, concernant un public spécifique, la littérature étudiée présente un faible niveau de preuve scientifique. Certaines données ont dû être extrapolées des informations concernant la population adulte ; les autres concernaient plutôt de faibles échantillons. Après une mise en contexte des différents cancers de l'enfant et de leurs traitements, ce manuscrit s'intéresse à détailler les diverses complications bucco-dentaires rencontrées au cours du traitement antinéoplasique et à distance de la rémission. Le coeur du travail consiste à proposer un guide pratique de la prise en charge de ce public spécifique par le chirurgien-dentiste. Pour ce faire, nous avons détaillé les diverses complications possiblement rencontrées de manière précoce (mucite, infections, dysfonction salivaire, saignements buccaux...) ou tardive (du simple défaut amélaire à l'hypodontie, en passant par les anomalies de forme et de taille) en proposant diverses alternatives thérapeutiques pour chaque problématique rencontrée. Nous avons également proposé un protocole de prévention des complications précoces afin de les limiter ou de réduire leur sévérité. Aussi, nous nous sommes intéressés aux complications possibles sur la santé générale. En effet, lors de sa prise en charge, le chirurgien-dentiste a affaire à un individu dans sa globalité, et il se doit de connaître l'état de santé générale de son patient afin d'évaluer la quiétude de ses thérapeutiques. Nous avons donc proposé un tableau récapitulatif des différentes précautions à prendre lors du suivi d'un individu souffrant d'une pathologie globale faisant suite à sa thérapie anticancéreuse.

Yet, to achieve this verbalization, we need guidance, because we don't know how to give such a description ourselves. If we leave the interviewee without guidance, he risks remaining in the implicit, speaking in a general way, or in an incomplete or imprecise way, commenting instead of describing. The explicit and precise description we aim is the opposite of the implicit, meaning a fine, detailed and complete way of putting the action in words.
