En effet, dans un environnement économique caractérisé par des changements constants, où l’entreprise ne peut plus garantir à son salarié un emploi à vie, le passage de la sécurité de l’emploi à la sécurité de l’employabilité devient impératif. Le concept d’employabilité reflète la capacité relative que possède l’individu à obtenir un emploi satisfaisant, soit à l’intérieur ou à l’extérieur de son entreprise. Dans notre thèse, nous avons cherché à comprendre quels sont les éléments qui contribuent au développement de l’employabilité du salarié. Une étude quantitative auprès de deux cents vingt-quatre cadres a permis de tester notre modèle de recherche construit à partir d’une revue de la littérature. Le test de ce modèle relève que parmi les sept déterminants retenus, c’est la personnalité proactive et les réseaux sociaux intra-organisationnels instrumentaux qui expliquent le plus l’employabilité. Les résultats obtenus confirment la multidimensionnalité du concept d’employabilité. Il est à cinq dimensions : l’ « expertise professionnelle », l’ « équilibre », l’« esprit collectif », l’« anticipation et optimisation » et la « flexibilité personnelle ».
