A multitude of perspectives from a team of international contributors covers: the importance of Professional Learning Networks the use of evidence within PLNs the impact of inter-school networks international cases of networks and communities the promotion and sustainability of PLNs Also featuring case studies and exemplars to contextualise sustainable learning networks, Networks For Learning is an accessible and thoroughly-researched book, which will be essential reading and a valuable resource for researchers, teachers and school leaders who are interested in developing professional learning networks.

Book Synopsis Education, Space and Urban Planning by : Angela Million
Download or read book Education, Space and Urban Planning written by Angela Million and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-07-26 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines a range of practical developments that are happening in education as conducted in urban settings across different scales. It contains insights that draw upon the fields of urban planning/urbanism, geography, architecture, education and pedagogy. It brings together current thinking and practical experience from German and international perspectives. This discussion is organised in four segments: schools and the neighbourhood; education and the neighbourhood; education and the city and finally, education and the region. Contributors cover a wide range of contemporary and significant socio-political aspects of education over the last decade. They reinforce emergent thinking that space and its urban context are important dimensions of education. This book also underscores the need for more research in the relationships between education and urban development itself. Current urban planning does not fully connect our understanding in education with what we know in the spatial and planning sciences. Accordingly, this release is an early attempt to bring together a growing body of integrated and interdisciplinary reflection on education theory and practice.
Book Synopsis Religiöses Lernen in der biblischen, frühjüdischen und frühchristlichen Überlieferung by : Beate Ego
Download or read book Religiöses Lernen in der biblischen, frühjüdischen und frühchristlichen Überlieferung written by Beate Ego and published by Mohr Siebeck. This book was released on 2005 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: English summary: This volume contains sixteen articles, written by German scholars and scholars from other countries, who took part in an international research symposium at the University of Osnabruck in 2003. The individual studies of Old and New Testament traditions and of ancient Jewish and early Christian literature focus on completely different aspects of learning. In addition to explanations concerning the practical experience of learning, for which learning something off by heart was of considerable significance, the personal and social aspects of learning processes were also of great importance. One learns from a teacher, and learning together in turn integrates the individual into the traditional community. Reference is also made to the theological-ritual dimension of learning, since learning is described as a way of encountering God, and teaching can be seen as an act of divine proof of grace. The order of the individual essays results in interesting perspectives for the history of the tradition of Jewish and Christian concepts of learning.
